Need to know if this is a good deal

I am from NC and looking into buying an E350 Sedan from dealer in Dallas. The E350 sticker is $62,105. P2 Package, Arctic White, Active Multi-Contour, Sprort PKG, Rear Spoiler, Walnut Wood Interior, AMG Wheels, Panoroof.

I can buy the car for $56,105 (6K off) or lease it for $599 a month with 6K down. This is my first Mercedes-Benz. I looked at BMW and Audi A6 but the Benz for me was the winner.

Is the price I am getting a good deal? Also, will cost $900 to ship to NC covered or $600 uncovered. dealer will not pay shipping.

Id say you have $2-3k more on the table and I wouldn't even entertain the shipping cost as part of the deal. Are you getting conquest or loyalty cash in this deal? Check out Amex buying or one of the other pricing tools. USAA insurance, Consumer Reports, etc..

Have your worked your local dealers via the internet? If not, back up and start there. Get your pricing info from one of the services above then blanket the dealers within xx miles (if going to TX don't think this is much of a concern for you) One you get the first round of offers back in, pick your best 2-3 and start paying serious ping pong with their offers leveraging the lowest price against the others. This may take a couple rounds but well worth the investment of a couple days as it can all be done on line.

Best of luck.

None of the dealers in the NC area have the configuration I want. I tried True Values, Edmunds as well as contacting the internet sales of all 3 local Mercedes dealers. The best I could do was about 4K off the price. I have been told by the dealer they can't bundle incentives (not sure if that is correct). I figured get the best price, then add my company incentive program but was told they couldn't do that.

if you don't mind to pay for the shipping cost, there are tons of dealers you can try. if you could get a car couple grands less than the place you have your quote but just pay a few hundreds more on shipping, why not?

Sounds like a solid deal, not bad by any means, but not the best the we've ever seen. Is that $599 without taxes or with taxes? You're doing better than the MBUSA advertised deal, which is $599 for a base base E350 with almost the same down, so on a technical level it looks pretty good.

I would tell them to eat that shipping cost, though.

Not all dealers have the configuration I am looking for. Is there any way to search all Mercedes dealers for a specific config?

welcome. what area of NC are you in?
the dealer searched a country wide database for me once, so I think they can do that search, price doesn't sound too bad, try to be as aggressive as possible!

good luck!

the one and only thing might help you with a slightly broader search results is the rear spoiler. you can do it later on your own with less money. other than that, i don't think the specs on your car is that difficult to find. if you do a search on some states with more dealers, you'll have better luck. i'll start with california first. as for search all at once, i don't think you can.

I am in Cary, NC. After seeing some of the comments on this subject, I think it would be wrong for me to pay the shipping cost. Thanks ALL for the feedback!!!

if the car is purchased from another dealer out of your state and you deal w/them directly, nothing wrong for them to ask you to pay for shipping. unless you are getting the car from the other state through your dealer, then you don't have to pay a penny on the shipping.

I went into the dealer looking at a $60k msrp 2012 e350 and the best offer I got was about $3000 off msrp and a 33 month lease term of $7500 driveoff with $650 per month.

I don't qualify for loyalty or conquest and so went in thinking I could get $6k off msrp and get $600-650 a month with a $4500 driveoff, but their offer was way higher. Am I being unreasonable? $6k off does seem to be about $2k under invoice.

Maybe M-B are finally cutting out the whorage of the E-Class with these insane incentives, making them about as accessible as a fully loaded Camry. Not good for new buyers, but finally a good deed toward existing owners who deserve resale protection.

However, my best advice to the above is to keep shopping around and compare deals.

I'd think Mercedes would still want to move as many car as possible. I don't know how concerned they would be about protecting resale values for present owners.

If I can get $4500 driveoff and $650 a month that would be a good deal right and not something outlandish either in terms of way cheap or over expensive?

Yeah, you're looking at a decently loaded car, that sounds about fair value to me.

You should be able to negotiate at least $5500 off msrp with no incentives on a 2012 E350.

Well . . . I did it. I had the new Benz delivered last week. Got the deal I wanted with the options/configurations I wanted as well. So far so good. Love the sport mode. More than enough pick up for me with the newer 302 horsepower.

The sticker price was $62,105 (Arctic White, P2, Pano roof, AMG wheels etc...). I had a choice of buying the car for $55,266 ($6,839 off) or leasing for $599 a month, with 5K down and 15K miles a year. I went with the lease. At this stage of my life, I plan to drive a new car every 2-3 years. I no longer want to deal with major repairs. I also got the 4yr/40K mile maint for $910. How did I do? I should also mention, I did this over the phone from a dealer in South Carolina who delivered the car to my house at no charge as well.

Sounds good to me, especially considering it's a very nicely loaded car, and wow, 15K Miles is great for an M-B Lease.

Is that $599 with or without Taxes? Also, a 2012 I assume?

Oh, also, what's your Residual at the end of the Lease (and Lease months term)?

The last question I'm curious of as I'm comparing mine to others, in the case that I want to buy my car after the Lease.

The $599 includes taxes. It is a 2012. The residual is $37,884 with a 33 month lease. Not sure what part of the country your in but I will be happy to share dealer contact info if needed. Hope this helps.

Next time, don't make any down payment. If you total or have your car stolen, mercedes will keep that down payment as part of the settlement and not use their gap insurance. Next time, just put it in the bank and pay it over the life of the lease. Your real lease price is, of course, $599 plus $5000/(mos of the lease) which you don't say.

The dealer wouldn't do the deal for $0 down and $750 a month. That said, if you can get that deal, it would be good.

Very strange......As far as I know, Mercedes "special lease deals" don't require a down payment.....they just use one to demonstrate how inexpensively you can lease a mercedes. The finance manager at the dealer can adjust the cash down to anything....and use the same "special" mf and residual.

Oh well.....you got a very nice discount...enjoy the car.....
