yet another offset question... please help

hi guys,

question: does offset +45 wheel fit W212 all around?

my W212 (european spec in china, not the china-made V212 chinese version) is currently on stock 17" rims. i've been doing research on this forum (and some others), and i see that most people choose to have different wheel specs for front and rear. i much prefer having same wheel spec all around.

my question is, to go for 19" wheel, would offset +45 work for all around? i should be running 245/35-19 tire size, this should be the closest overall size to the original? so wheel size should be 19x8.5J, with offset +45 all around?

thanks very much for all your input in advance!

will

actually, reading more and more about 19" being easily damaged on the road, i think i probably should just go for 18"....

i just went to MBUSA website and see that E550 4Matic has 18x8.5, but doesn't say what the offset is...

is it +45 or +48 for both front and back?

this offset setting can fit E350? mine is actually a E200 in asia... it appears that both specs are being discussed in this forum and i cannot tell which is correct.

just checked with my local wheel shop, the guy there said i should have offset ET +35.

so the correct wheel size should be:18x8.0J ET+35,
is this the same as 18x8.5J ET+48? which setup is better?

can anyone confirm this? thanks

Ok the 18x8.5 at 48 et is stock fitment, "perfect fitment" is an opinion.. Will 18x8 at 35 et work, Absolutely! To me "perfect fitment is FLUSH with the fender.. so 18x8.5 at 35 et is much more flush than the 48 et, the lower the offset the closer the rim is to the fender. Also keep in mind if the wheel is flush with fender, the tire must be also or else you will rub. Any questions just pm me, glad to help.

On my car, i'd stick to the 8.5" wheel & higher offset. My rule of thumb is to stick as close as possible to what the car comes with from the factory. Mercedes-Benz doesn't just look at their engineers & say, "Do you think this size will fit?"...at least, i hope they don't!!!

No one is guessing at the fitment.. And I agree, i wouldnt go from a 8.5" wheel down to an 8".
