2012 E550 Pricing

Is 10k off a $70k 2012 E550 possible? I know the 2011s were going for 10k off at the end of the year all day long. However, my dealer right now is more in the ballpark of 5k. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I just bought a new 2011 E550 yesterday for 10K off of MSRP, the dealer offered 6% off of the 2012's MSRP.

Good Luck

yeah, 10 off a '12 would be sweet, especially if you ordered it, but if it's on the lot....might not be exactly want you want/need...
would probably get a better deal on an '11 huh?

Probably a better deal to be had on an '11 which I wouldn't mind as long as it has the color gauge cluster. Problem is, it's so hard to locate cars without the dealer locating program. It would be sweet if prospective customers had access to it online.

unless it has a $5k dealer mark up, i think $10k off regular msrp on a 2012 is close to impossible. $5k is a very fair discount to be very honest but i'm sure you can do a bit better if you are one of their loyal, return customers. but 2011 is a total different story. i think you can get more than $10k off. now just a matter of you want a current model new car or an "old" new car for a smaller dent on your wallet. pride or money, your choice. but no matter which you pick, still a good car. good luck .

I think it is more than just pride. Resale value difference between 2011 and 2012 can be a quite few thousand dollars depending on the year that one want to sell the car. I would think 10K off is impossible now. Dealer has to make some kind of profit (or at least not loss their shirt) to stay in business. E class don't have 10K margin between MSRP and invoice. We will probably has to wait for year end clearance and hope that Mercedes kick in some dealer cash/rebate to make it possible... Wifey would love a E550 coupe...

Never priced a 550, but that seems high. We just bought a wagon (350) with almost all those options (minus pano, plus driver assistance package, histrionic plus) and only paid about $5k more than that NEW. MSRP was very close to what you listed. My gut -- maybe another 5k below that.

Also, I seem to recall reading that the 550s no longer have standard airmatic for 2012. Worth thinking about if you want a 550.

love spellcheck. DISTRONIC has not, so far, proven histrionic.

If the car is a new 2011 that is not a bad price of 57k + TTT.

Only MBs - the best or nothing
That would be a great price new(even for 2011), but the car is used - 14K miles(see above).

By the way, Euromotorcars in MD still has a new 2011 550 left.

I'd say low $50's would be a helluva deal on a car like that. Problem is, E prices are all over the map right now, as MBUSA's incentives on New models are throwing everything off base, and the cars are still too new to have a uniformed depreciation curve.

I still see 2010 E350's with 20K miles listed for high $40's, then you see some 2011 E350's listed for low $40's. Also, E550's are harder to grasp in terms of proper resale value as there are less of them, and the market is softer on them than E350's (at a certain point in time, E550's will meet the value of E350's and E350's will be easier to sell due to less complexities and a public perception of better MPG, I notice this to start happening as the cars get about 3-4+ years old).

57k is not that bad. Before I bought my new 550 they had a used 2011 with similar options as the OP and they were asking 69,990 for the car. They wouldn't move more than 1-2k off that price. I was going to buy it if it wasn't for the cellular remiss exhaust that was on it. It would drown like crazy at40-50mph.

when did you buy yours? last year? if so, the used one you were looking at was the same model year but the one op mentioned is last year's model. that makes a big difference.

I bought mine at the end of Oct. The used one was 2011 model year with a build date and purchased in 2010.

Hmmm.... I agree that prices do seem to be all over the map. There is a car in Bethesda with 6k on the clock I am strongly considering for $55k delivered to Chicago. However, I came across a brand new 2011 designo Mocha Black car in Chicago yesterday that they have offered to me for 61k from a 72k sticker. Has anyone else seen this color before? It was my first time and I am definitely impressed with the depth and strength of this unique color. Problem is I'm having a very hard time justifying paying another 6k for a new car from the same model year.

here's a CLS63 in Mocha Black......
it's a nice colordoes it have designo leather too?
that would be great for that price...
seems pretty good....especially if you have a garage....
that's the only thing holding me back from the 'special' paint....
but I am leaning towards the designo Blue leather......
and that extra cost could probably be reduced eh?
designo seems like a good choice.....especially if you're going to keep it a while...

From a depreciation perspective I think you are better off with the Bethesda car because after about a year or so both cars will essentially be worth the same assuming they are equipped similarly. Is it Euromotorcars Bethesda BTW? I live right around there.

I got 2K off my 2012 E550. I had to really twist arms to get that.
