Carbon Fiber side markers

I used 3m DiNoc carbon fiber and wrapped my side markers today. It looks awesome. When the light is on, you can see the cf weave in the light. I did it myself with no prior experience. It was a fun project that only took a part of the afternoon.

I cant get those damn bulbs out. I took out the wheel well liner pins and got my hand in there. But the back of the bulb almost touches the metal mount that the pin fits into. There is no way for me to manipulate it out. So I have to stick with this for now.

If I could get the assembly out, this is what I wanted:

Enzo, there are a couple videos on youtube showing this material being installed with a razor blade, credit card and hair dryer, it looks easy as can be.

You can buy a small amount of it for $10, is there anything I am missing?

No. Thats about it. But I would not want to touch a razor blade to my car. So I took a picture of the side marker and outlined it in a program like MS PAINT. Then I printed that outline so it was the exact shape of the marker. I made it about 1% bigger than the marker. That was my template. Then I cut the film and with the hair dryer and a credit card (actually my health insurance card b/c it is thinner), I was able to curl the edges around the marker (Between the paint and marker)

Looks good! I considered it on mine but the guys who did it convinced me to get Gloss Black to cover those eye sores, which I agree as I had no CF on the car.... Buuuut now, with my CF B-Pillars....

I dig 'em. I'm surprised the light shines through as they don't shine through my 3M Gloss Black material at all.... but it's better for you in a legality sense. Also, I dig the pattern being shown.

hey after reading this thread and looking at your wrapped sidemarker pictures, you have inspired to me to try it out myself LOL

update: tried it out, and it looked great but the LED wouldn't show through the vinyl...so I just removed it. I wanted the LED's to show through the wrap =/

I was able to grab some leftover CF wraps from my friends shop so I'll post some pics after, see how it looks.
