2012 E350
2012 E350 Oil Filter

I am new to the forum. I just did my 1st oil change at 3,500 miles. I know, the service schedule calls for 10,000 miles. But I am not a believer for such a long service interval. Depending our driving habits or more precisely results of UOA, I think it should be around 5,000-7,500 miles (my opinion entirely).

Anyway, I just want to share with you that the oil filter for the direct injection engine (M276) is different from that of 2011 E350. The original oil filter is a Purflux L394. The MB part# is 2761800009. I bought it from a local MB dealer at a rip-off price ($30). I did not find any OEM compatible filter from Mann or Hengst. I am wondering if any of you has found a better price than what the MB dealer is charging.

Thanks.

Here's what the L394 filter looks like:

How much oil did you put into the engine? The owner's manual says capacity is 6.9 quarts. However I extracted about 7.6 quarts of factory fill and put in 7.5 quarts of new oil, which exceeds specified capacity. However with 7.5 quarts, the dipstick indication is midway between min and max.

Does the manual say with filter or without filter on the capacity?

My MB dealer charges about $21 for the filter. I am just going to buy the filter from the dealer since I only change oil once a year. Their price for M1 5W-40 Formula M is pretty good at only $6/quart.

2021 Mojave Silver E450, BRG Jaguar F-pace S, 2011 335d (RIP), 2010 E350 (sold)
From parts.com I am fairly certain they only sell OEM parts unless explicitly noted:

Part Number "2761800009" was found for MERCEDES-BENZ, but we could not verify the part fits the selected vehicle.
You may still purchase this part below. (this was because I searched for a 2010 not your 2012 so the part is different between yrs)

Quick Order Part Number 2761800009 Part Name TS OIL FILTE MSRP $21.50 Core $0.00 Save $7.10 Online Price $14.40

Searching for it manually by year make and model returned one for $10.80 (for my 2010).

Those are pretty decent prices for the filter and oil...
