quick access music

is there a way to switch screens from navi to whatever music is playing other than radio? i just hit the radio button to switch back from navi screen but why should i have to go through all the steps with the controller to go back to music screen?

move the knob up and select "audio". i think that's the easiest to go back to whatever sources your music from.

thats what sucks. it would be nice to have a "music" button that would take you back to whatever is playing.

If you have audio in the display in center of speedometer, you can use buttons on steering wheel to navigate the audio. Not the volume ones, but the other ones.

i have it setup like that now, but would like to have the mph displayed as i can never see the dial on the speedo. i just thought there would be a quick access button on the dial pad.

It might not be a perfect solution, but I believe you can scroll through the audio sources by pressing the radio button multiple times. I haven't done it in a while, but my recollection is that it will wait a second or so before switching. Thus if you do it fast enough it won't cut the current audio.

But maybe I am confused with another car.

maybe this is something new for 2012, but mine has a DISC button that does that. it's right next to the RADIO button. if you're on the nav screen and push it it goes to a screen showing the currently playing music on whatever media (USB/SD/CD/iPod) you're using.

Doesn't anyone use voice control?

If you are in Navi and want to return the screen to audio, just press the voice button and say "Audio".

Don

haha, I never use VC, but that is a good idea, even though it would be lightyears faster to just push the button on the panel for the music.....right?
