E550
Keyless ignition question

I am looking at a 2010 e550 and it does not have this option. Is it possible to add it later? Also it has 11,000 miles and they are asking 50,000. It's that a good deal from a dealer?

Not a factory one. Aftermarket options might be available.

Your best bet would be to install remote ignition. I think it costs about $1,000 but when you have it it is almost better than Keyless go because on a warm or cold day you can start the car and the climate control system before you get in the car. Just remember to not do that in an enclosed garage so you are not breathing carbon monoxide

I'd say that's a good deal...$50K for e550 w/ 11K miles? You can always negotiate lower...but, I'd jump on that! After a thorough test drive, of course! (Did you run the data through kbb, edmunds, or nada yet?)

i'm sorry hofb99 but i have to disagree on the deal. i don't think it's a deal that he should jump on since it doesn't have p2 and 2013 models are coming out in a few months. he could probably get a new 2012 e350 for a little more. i know it ain't no e550 but most of the people are happy w/their e350 and feel it's sufficient enough for daily commute.

I see your point; didn't realize no P2...but maybe he really wants an E550? Brandon?

damn, tough call, can't say from the dollars standpoint if it's good or not, but the keyless go is so awesome you'll never want a car without it again, and plus the 2 stuff is great for the 550

good luck Brandon

E550
Thank you for the replies. I want the horsepower of the E550 instead of the 350. The car is in mint condition. Mercedes just replaced all the woo on the interior because it was fading and I could not find a blemish anywhere on it. My biggest downfall is that it is black. I am a sucker for a black car!! The year of free washes didn't hurt. This will be My first Mercedes if I get it. So I don't think I will miss the p2 options until it is too late. I am coming out of a 2007 Yukon so you can imagine the upgrade that even the p1 will give me. I think they are selling it to me around $46,000 because they offered me about $4,000 more than my car is worth.

This sounds a good deal considering a gas guzzler gets more price than it's actual value . However, you can't go wrong with P2 either

I like black interiors , there are some options for exterior color but you know it's all personal taste . So, in a nutshell black interior is not replacable for me and I could even turn down a P2 car for it but again it's a personal thingy lol

Don't buy without P2. And in my opinion it is not a good deal at all for a P1 car. I bought a 2010 E550 at the beginning of this year prized at $53 000. It is a P2 with driver assist package. Gave my 2011 E350 P2 car with 29 000 miles and $9000 for it. One dealer offered only $43 000 as a trade in value for my 350 so with this math I got my 550 for $52 000. It had 14 700 miles on it and in mint condition.
