Popping sound from panorama sunroof.

Still looks like a 2 - 3 hour job for someone doing it for the first time but well doable though.
I had this issue and it was fixed under warranty. My car made a loud pop when I drove it over a curb on one side. Did not make difference which. I took it as torque on the car body.
Dealer torqued bolts and no problem since many years ago now when it was done.

Took my car in to MB of Arlington today to have this fixed. Car has 32,457 miles on it. In by 7:30 this morning and done by 3:00 this afternoon. Give or take an hour or so before they started on the car.
Stated on the invoice:
R/R complete headliner to inspect. Removed panoramic sunroof glass and guide rails. Cleaned and re-torqued complete panoramic glass assembly. Connected and disconnected SDS and battery charger to normalize panoramic sunroof. Road tested noise is no longer present.
CPO warranty.

If you watch the video, I think it was partially removed. At the dealer when they're getting paid in full by MB, they followed the whole book. It sounds like all you really need to do is get those 6 bolts.

I don't have any popping, so hopefully my prior owner had that fixed if it was acting up.Yikes!

Yeah sometimes I just wish I had the regular sunroof. Never had this issue in any of my other cars.

I bought mine knowing would be a problem, but didn't realize how bad it was on the W212. I also have it a little bit on my W211, but it's nothing compared to the W212. I still prefer having the pano though. Just makes it nicer overall, but I hardly ever open it.

I waited until it got really bad. dealer fixed it right away. it was so bad that you couldn't make any elevated turns (turning into a driveway up the slope...). Dealer knew what to do right away. They said loose bolt.... the question is when will it return and how much will they charge me when i'm out of warranty.............

Still an issue
I just bought an 2014 E63 AMG-S (Sedan) 30-days ago and just hit 40K mi. The poping noise is heard as well as the creaking noise.
Because I bought my car from an import desler MB will not provide any financial assistance to cover the cost of what MB Danbury CT is seeking to charge me $950.00 to fix.
Persnally, this issue should be on a recall or anyone like me who has spent money to fix this can come together and seek a class action lawsuit on this issue. The lack of quality standards here is way beyond the assumed reputation of the car manufacturer!
Moreover, might I add that a MB customer care representative informed that their was no record of any complaints about this in their systems. What an utter joke that is and almost hedges on a lie to me!
BTW, if I would have purchased the car through MB they would have kicked in some dollars to help offset this expense. This is according to Justin at MB. Customer Care.
Hope you all with the same problem have had better results. Good luck!

That video above shows what to do to DIY if it's something you want to try yourself. I have the Pano also, but so far no noise. The fix doesn't look as ridiculous as some other things I have worked on.

Recently had this fixed under warranty on my 2014 E250 Bluetec. I am glad that I ended up buying my car from a Mercedes dealer in Montreal, as the Service Manager made sure if was fully repaired, took two visits but it has not come back in 3 months.

I just bought a 14 E63S sedan with pano roof and I noticed loud popping when I enter driveways or hit some bumps. It was very loud and at first I thought a rock hit my windshield. I also need to repair the rear sunshade as that stopped working, stuck closed. The rear sunshade stopped working half way home from the 760 mile drive after I picked it up in Tulsa OK, from Dodge dealer. Will post my findings & results in a few weeks after I get time to work on it.
