Once repairs were done, it was under pressure to go back to original right position, and movement up and down my driveway, help it snap back in place. And now since it's positioned correctly, noise is not repeating. Just a wild guess!
I was actually going to add, when I responded to your original post, if you had parked your car on a level/flat surface when performing this fix. Be that as it may, sound is gone, let the villagers rejoice! If the sound should ever come back... then you'll be able to repeat the procedure in less time. BTW, did you end up removing the C pillar trim?

When I did the repairs car was sitting inside my garage's flat surface. I only removed upper half of B pillar. At the C pillar, I only popped the SRS tab cover. It was really a straightforward job, thanks to all those who contributed to this great thread.

The popping noise has returned. Well, the only choice I now have is to redo the removal and retorquing of the 6 bolts. Does anyone know what torque value I should use? Thx.

The Fix Works!

I showed the video to my mechanic, Art Ryan. $240 later, it’s perfect! No popping or cracking whatsoever. My car is quieter and feels much tighter than before. If you have this problem and you’re in Tampa Bay, call Art at 727-384-0400. He can fix anything else Mercedes related too. I’ve know Art for over 30 years. He’s the best!

This fix worked like a champ. I went ahead and tightened the ones up front as there's 4 per side but I actually think it is the middle 2 that are the culprit cause those were the ones on mine that were somewhat loose. The others were pretty tight. The front ones you will need to remove the A-pillar covers and the sun visors. A-pillar covers you just remove the airbag emblem and there is a torx nut behind it. Visors are easy, they have a plastic cover over the mount, remove that then just pull the windshield side down to snap out and then slide forward to release.

I also have to say that the fix works like a charm. Fixed mine about a month ago and has been smooth sailing ever since. It definitely made me want to invest in an electric torque wrench. Thanks again for the videos and instructions!

Been a while since this was posted but still helping out. This sounds like a diagnosis and fix that might actually work. Thank you!

NICE!! Thanks Dead Civic! Liked how you got your dig in on your dealer's service rep. I have to say I had the opposite experience with a Chevy truck I got from Car Max. They actually covered some work just outside of their warrantee period. Sorry your shop wasn't as well run. Really nice work on the video, you helped a lot of people that were likely fit to be tied.

My car suffered from this problem and I've just done it myself in about 45 minutes. The video was a great help. I would echo what others have said in that you only need to take down the grab handles, b pillar tops, and the c pillar covers. I couldn't even remove mine because they seemed to be joined up to the rear window shade. But I managed it never the less. I tightened all six bolts with loctite. One of the bolts was only finger tight as well.

Having this issue on a c250 coupe. Has anyone used resolved this issue on that model?
