Pontoon Fenders ,Why
I know W212 has got pontoon fenders reminiscent of legendary model dating back to 50's and mid 60's . However, the definition of using this term in W212 never satisfies me considering W221 and W204 fenders are bulging out more than the body whereas nobody calls them pontoon fenders
What's more I see no big pompous fenders in the rear same as models above
So, could you please educate me on this conundrum lol

Technically the W204 and W211 are typical fender flares, as they flare around the fender well. The W212's is a "Pontoon" modernization as it's a rear wheel well treatment that only wraps around the wheel well toward the front of it, while at the rear it starts at the taillights before it starts to go into the downward "reverse Nike swoosh" look. Basically they're different technical designs, and the "Ponton" aspect pertains to the shape and way it flares the fenders out, rather than the actual fact that fenders are simply flared out.
