Got the build date: June 19. What does this mean anyway? When it was finished or assembled? Did they do it in one day? (I know they can today with some cars)

I'm sure someone more MB knowledgeable will chime in, but for reference when I ordered my Audi there were 2 "build" dates - "release" and "complete":

03/16/01 Ordered
04/12/01 Production release
05/07/01 Production complete (Wk 19)
05/12/01 Ship loaded
05/15/01 Ship in transit
06/03/01 Port arrived (San Diego)
06/06/01 Carrier release
06/08/01 Truck loaded
06/12/01 Arrived dealer (18mi)

HTH,
Richard

Do you guys notice any exterior changes to the 2013 E350 4matic as opposed to the 2012 E350?

I plan on purchasing one this week but have not decided if I should get the 2013.

Also I was hoping you guys could give me some clarification.
I went to the dealership and found a 2012 E350 4 matic with package 2. It says it has the 321 spor package: 18 inch 5 spoke alloy wheels, lowered sport suspension, sport bodystyling, front brake calipers with benz logo etc...

Should this car not come with the AMG rims? Also does the sport bodystyling mean AMG body kit?

Right now it is $2500 off MSRP (no USAA pricing for some reason) on the 2013 e class. This could change in August. Check USAA on Wednesday.

Thanks for the info. Checked with USAA also, and the figures will be out by the end of the week.

2013 USAA Incentive

Just posted on another thread, sorry for the double. Anyway, saw that all E class models for 2013 model year have $2500 cash from USAA.

Good luck with the negotiations.

$2500 off in addition to what you negiogiate with the dealer or is there special 2013 pricing for USAA not shown on their website? I called around (USAA, MB, dealer), everyone is saying something different.

I didn't see '13 pricing on the site, so maybe try to use the '12 as a guide and see how you do. Usually the dealers have a USAA price set up so they will present a price to you if you ask. If you don't think it's legit tell them and see what you can do. I've done better than the "USAA price" several times. So I would expect the $2500 is off the "best price." It will be interesting if there is any loyalty cash on the '13 E also as that you can combine with USAA, but not conquest.

I'm not sure what is going on....Can someone tell me how much money a dealer makes by selling a car say $1000 below invoice (not counting any rebates from MB)?

Rebates like Conquest, Loyalty, MBCA, USAA do not come out of the dealer's pocket, they are paid by MB.

Even if the dealer sells at invoice or below, there are MB to dealer incentives, popularly known as trunk money, that allow the dealer to make a profit.

Regards,
Don

Congrats! FWIW your wheels look just fine. And most of all they will get you to your destination safely without a high propensity for wheel damage. So glad you did not get the stupid low profile tires. Unless you live someplace with impeccable roads the low profile tires are so fragile. After multiple wheel failures wasting time and money I threw them out for regular 17" tires and I am so glad I did that. You will really come to appreciate the durability, performance, and comfort of your 17" tires

Thanks! I thought some people hear would laugh that I got 17" instead of 18". After doing research, I found out that the ride would be better and the rims might get scrapped less (please comment all if I am wrong). Though, I'm concerned that it looks too old (I'm 30 something) with bigger sidewalls on the tires of the 17" wheel and the 8 spoke wheel. That's why I'm looking at these:

Thanks for pointing out the chrome inserts. I didn't notice! Sorry I didn't mean to offend anyone...These are Designo wheels??? They are the standard luxury sedan wheels.

Nope, I am not offended at all but kinda disconcerted because these wheels are better designed than what you are looking for . Again, it's about preference

Another thing , your car is Luxury but why only 3 grill slats ? Normally it should have been 4 because of your choice . I contribute it to your having distronic plus in general Driver Assistant package and this package has no 4 grill slats ? Strange

No idea, but I like the grill. I also like the distronic radar device since it is black, the car is black, and it makes the grill standout

USAA '13 Pricing Updated

For those that have been waiting, the USAA site has updated to include your choice of pricing '12 or '13 MY cars. Looks like a '13 E350 4Matic has a base reduction of almost $3k of MSRP. Priced one out to include the incentive and the price is about $5,500 off sticker. Depends on the options, but it looks like 8% discount off sticker is the norm.
