Illuminated Door Sills
How hard is it to retrofit the illuminated door sills. It was quite complex on my R350 and I had the dealer do it. I am wondering if it is easier to do it on the 12 E550...

If the car is pre-wired for this, it should not be a problem at all. Pop the existing ones out and pop, connect the connector and pop the new ones in.

You are correct on that one. I was against them when we ordered our car but my wife talked me into them. No regrets. They are hot looking. Very classy.

$900 and change for parts from dealer. comes with 4 plates (2 non illuminated ones for back doors). Asked if they can sell just the front, they said no. Any volunteers to pull the non-lits off to see if we're prewired? (i have no idea how to take the plate off) Dealer's part detail said its a 1 1/2 hour job. Might just have them do it.

You guys seems to be talking me into my first mod...need to figure out if it's pre-wired as well for an easy DIY...
