E350 BLUETEC vs. S350 BLUETEC
I noticed the 2 engine choices vary by 30 horsepower.
Anybody know exactly what the differences between the 2 engines are?

I can't tell for sure, but I suspect 2012 E still has old 210hp motor and S Bluetec has "new " 240hp engine - the same as new ML got. 2013 E Bluetec will have 240hp also.

There are many internal changes to the new 3.0 Bluetec. Most are friction reducing treatments to the internal engine parts. I beleive I read somewhere that the cylinder linings are all new. Obviously there is also a significant software remapping too. This level of power is easily obtained from the existing Bluetec with a simple tune.
