Bluetec Break-In Procedure?
This may be in the manual, which I plan on reading in a couple days cover to cover on a long plane flight, but does anyone know the general guidelines of breaking in the engine on the E350 Bluetec?
I did a search and found it says to not use cruise control for at least 7,500 miles but it did say to rev it a bit, though stay under 3,700 RPMs? I couldn't help but give it a little gas to about 4,000 earlier for a bit just to feel the torque but I plan on taking it easy starting out.
Thanks, really looking forward to enjoying this car.

Break in period is 1500 km or almost 1 K mile according to my manual . You should not drive a steady speed during this period , try various speeds and easy on the gas pedal . This is why they don't recommend using speed control but 7.5K miles sounded a bit much for cruise control
I am driving at different speeds too , fuel consumption should be a littler higher than normal but once all this is done , the car should catch factory specs
