Graduated to W212
I've been lurking a bit here recently. Out with the W211 and in with the W212. Picked up a W212 and I love it. This will be my DD. Had to take this photo of the cars together before I pulled away. Stayed with black and believe that it will be several months before the wife realizes that "we" have a new one.
Nice! How much did you get for the old model? I live in MD too...go Terrapins. Interested if you had a good experience and most importantly good deal at MB of SS. You can PM to discuss.

Congrats and just tell your wife it is the same car and you just had it detailed...

Congrats! I came from the exact same car into the exact same car (different colors). It's even more of a pleasure to have the W212 when you understand the E lineage which includes its predecessor the W211.

The first thing she noticed were the new tags of all things. I kid you not. In Maryland, we now have commemorative red, white and blue War of 1812 tags. If only I had transferred the old tags!

Great minds.... Totally agree and I started with a W210. The jump from the W210 to W211 was massive. The new car is more familiar to me, but clearly functions on a higher level.

Totally agreed! The first time I drove a W212, I fell in love with the ride instantly, because as I put it: "It follows the bloodline of the W211, feels very familiar, just evolved, refined and more tightly screwed together". I can't ask for anything better because I love the W211 and the classic E drive.

Actually the AMG Sport W211 suspension was pretty hard over some rough roads, but I don't remember it being as harsh. It actually does comply with what I said though, in a way. The W212 is like the W211 evolved.... smoother over good roads, yet harder over hard roads.
W212 is a class act and solid Mercedes. I get into it and sometimes feel sorry for the schnooks out there on the 405 FWY, LOL. Congrats on the new ride and thanks for posting the pics of them side by side. A picture says a thousand words!
