Ash wood trim

Hi,

I really want the Ash wood on my new e350 Luxury. Unfortunately, you can't order it with the luxury model. Does anyone think the dealer can change the wood trim at delivery? How much do you think it would cost?

thanks

DO you think so? The dealer asked and even called MB. They said Ash only comes in the sports sedan. Burl wood is your only option for the luxury sedan.

I'd ask the dealer to only charge you labor to install it. They can order your new E. Order replacement ash wood, install it and send the burl back to MB? Or keep on hand as parts.

I'll ask. We'll see what they say.

I don't think the owner bothered to swap the interior for aftermarket one , you would not like to do that in such a cool car

Another thing , since you are about to order , you can also try Designo options , there are more options with that choice if you like

I prefered burl over anything but black ash is incredible in black interior ,so I think you are on the right path wanting piano black

trim

See what kind of quote they'll give you. I'll bet they don't want your stock burlwood as probably low demand for that part(s).

I have no experience but bet it will be at least $1500 parts and labor for them to do it????

Good luck.

Unless you post here for someone near you with new/nearly new E that has black ash BUT wants burlwood and then it's just labor....

I'm interested now. Can you give more details? How much is it to buy and install?

i don't know how much they charge in the states, but in china its quite cheap, as labor is. U can check with your local tint shop to see if they offer this service. Carbon fiber wrap materials are quite cheap, they might charge labor more.

this link has some photos u can look at:

I don't know why people would stick on a layer to beautiful trim.

hey, you're the one who said you're interested.......

trim is trim, and beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. the link i provided is just a representation of how it's done. it's not exactly my cup of tea either. i've seen higher quality wrap which looks pretty good tho.
