Mod ideas

So I got my black E550 last week, and so far all ive had done is the Tint. Looking for some ideas for the next round of tweaks. Thinking of doing the door pillars in CF wrap (or is CF on Black too lame?). And trying to do something with the orange hood markers, either replacing with smoked, or painting, or whatever people recommend. Thanks for whatever input you guys got!

Black smoked side markers can be bought off of ebay pretty cheap. Do you have sport model, if so a lot of people remove the chrome strip off the side of the doors, just the way the e63 comes. Debadging is always nice also, the clean look. Good luck with the new car, congrats.

Is there a perticular brand or seller of the smoked thats better? I dont wanna buy some cheap number from China thats really sh*tty quality. It is sport, how does one remove the chrome?

I am not sure on the brand, but if you search, a bunch will come up and just check the area they are coming from. The chrome strips are just double sided taped on, I used a heat gun and just pulled them off, doesn't require a lot of heat.

rob is right again. those strips and badges are easy to remove. use his method. use goo gone if you need to clean off some residuals. the best mod of all, could be one of the priceist, is changing the wheels. adding front lip isn't a bad idea as well. as for sidemarkers, you can go w/body color, tint or clear. but if you want the dark vader look, go w/body color. good luck and have fun shopping.

Hmm k, looking at taking off the trim, will try it tomorrow. I like the wheels i have, twin 5 spoke AMGs Only side markers i could find online are smoke, no totally black ones. I wanted the Vader look originally but tint laws make that kinda hard to pull off here now =/ The lips a good idea, is CF on a black car too strange?

I believe K-A's W212 has CF pillar doors , his car is white .
You can add roof and trunk spoilers . You're not a chrome fan from what I see this is why I can't recommend you exterior mods I have done so far lol

CF mirror covers is a great add-on too
