Thanks

You need to go into engineering menu and enable MB Services

Got this feature working thanks for the instructions though I admit this functionality is completely useless. The internet is extremely slow even on a 4g phone. I assume its due the Blue DUN connections limiting bandwidth. Actually I am glad MB USA decided to remove the feature from the car because it is just no where near ready for true user use. I can't see how any one in europe (if its enabled there) finds this feature at all useful (unless there it performs better - and doesn't go dark when the car is in motion or drive)

Agree. I tried connecting through an app called FoxFi (which also lets you create a WiFi hotspot as well as a BlueTooth DUN) and saw no speed differences. However, FoxFi is free where BlueDUN is $3.29 USD. Also, the apps in COMMAND Online seem to work when the car is out of P for me.

In the engineering menu, under HW Settings, then under HU Parameter there is an item MB Services (it is several pages down once on the HU Parameters screen). Set this to on.

What I want to figure out, is how to get the rear view camera screen to show my "Projected Path" like it does in my ML350 when placed in reverse. I'm hope it is configurable in the engineering mode somehow . . . it may be related to the tow package I have . . .

Can't do it....you can show steering angle on the compass screen, if that rocks your boat...it is not set on in the e-class, but it's on in the M's. I did it, looked at it once and wondered why I cared.

How do you enable Sirrus Weather? I do see Command Online (MB Apps) but not Sirrus weather. I have Canadian version 2012 E550 January 2012 built.

Thanks,
Victor

Just call Sirrus and have it turned on by them. No changes you need to make on your end. It will activate on the COMMAND when you've done that automatically.

I called Sirius Canada and they said it is not available in Canada yet I had it available on my previous 2012 E550 canadiann version. My 6 month trial ends in another month on my current (canadian version) 2012 E550 and I want to sign up only if it has Sirius weather available. Currently I do get Nav traffic on the command.

Does anybody know if during the middle of 2012 built Mercedes took that option away from canadian versions as mentioned I had it on my previous E class.

Are there any fellow Canadians who are getting Sirrius weather on their Subscription or trial Sirus?

Thanks in advance,
Victor

If you have SD CARD slot in your Comand unit , you have NTG 4.5 otherwise NTG 4 .

Thumbs up Canadian 2012 COMAND 4.5 works with BlackBerry 9900

Thanks to the OP, managed to get internet working as well on my 2012 E550 4matic, the interesting part is that with the BB9900, I don't need to download any software, the BB9900 automatically goes into modem mode.

Of course, one has to select the correct ISP in the setting, I picked Rogers and everything just worked.

Slowly of course, but some of the text based mobile sites are ok.

Our Comand radios in the US have a "weather band" function that can pick up continuous weather reports broadcast by the government weather service.Do Canadian models have the same thing? Actually, although one would think that the Canadian government would offer the same service I guess I can't be certain.

Well it looks like if I want to enable this feature in my car, I would need to switch out my 4.0 COMAND unit with a 4.5 COMAND in the newer cars.

If I happen to find one cheap, like I did when I retrofitted NAV into my C300, I may do it.

Does sound kinda interesting to experiment with.

I expect that in 2013, Mercedes might add some predefined applications to the screen but they will just be predefinied favorites. If they do add applications the we could manually enter them as favorites and access them on our current 4.5 systems.
I am waiting for more apps. I had this for about 6 months now and I rarely use it anymore... Anyone else find more reasons to use it??

Wow, it is cool. So you need to have a phone to activate the feature, or command can do it itself?

Had an iphone 4 and moved to Android Samsung Nexus. In my opinion, the iphone is overrated....and I use an Ipad and my Nexus phone. Not sure I'd go back to an iphone....
