I have internet working on my late 2011 comand 4.5 US car (Verizon)
Anyone come up with something yet? I've been searching for an answer to this without much luck. Hopefully someone has found a way to do this by now.

as said by others; far easier to use the phone.
The only nice thing is internet radio, though it sometimes takes ages
to connect and/or reconnect when signal lost.
but think this is mainly a problem on the iPhone side (hotspot),
as a hard reboot often fixes any connection problems.
on the other hand, you might as well stream internet radio from a phone app to the car,
so in the end I don't really see any advantage in having internet in the car...?

I don't have bluetooth streaming. I presume the hardware would be faster.
One of my pet peeves is when I'm playing a compact disc the info is slow to load. Why they have not gone to solid state is surprising..

Or for a less expensive alternative install an add-on box to provide Android Auto and/or Apple CarPlay on the existing screen.
