Thanks!! I've been busy setting up all of the radio presets, navigation memory, and phone contacts, and reading the manuals. There's now a Digital Operators Manual that is installed in the COMMAND memory which defines features and controls in the car. Really a cool thing if it was accurate. The compass function has now been permanently moved from the rear-view mirror to the COMMAND screen(s). The Digital manual still claims that it is in the car, but it has officially been deleted according to MB technical support.

The 2013 is more fuel efficient than the 2011. According to the onboard consumption meter, the mpg is running about 20% higher than what I have been experiencing on the exact same routes. For example, one route showed 26.5 in the 2011 (35,000 miles on the clock) and now shows 31.7 (167 miles on the clock) not even broken-in. I expect some improvement as the tires and the engine settle down at around 2,000 miles. This particular route is 75% interstate. 25% suburban. There are two new displays on the MFD and the COMMAND. The MFD has an ECO display showing three graphs (Acceleration, Steady, Coasting), the COMMAND has a consumption bar chart by 5 minute intervals showing mpg over the time period.

That's great , I think I would love to have ICM because I have seen some cars with that feature on the mag and it seemed cool

I think you also should have a different wiper stalk and tempomat stalk with the chrome tip .
Don't hesitate buy chrome door pins as well as AMG pedals , these will dramatically increase your interior

Thanks for the pointer on the pedals. They are available as accessories from the parts department. My question to the salesperson is whether the car was supposed to come with these installed as a part of the E550 specification. This might just be an example of "subject to change" specs.

UpdateThe pedals were supposed to be a part of the build on the E550, but not the E350. The parts have been ordered and will be installed by the dealer under warranty.

Second UpdateThe pedals are NOT standard on the E550 for the USA E550 builds. However, the dealer has ordered the parts and will install them for no charge because the pedals appeared in the 2013 Sales Brochure for the E550.

I am pretty sure the pedals and door lock pins are an extra added accessory, which is more money.

Do those two things make it that much nicer? Should I order them for my new 550?

to be honest, the pedals aren't a big deal to me. but those damn door pins are possibly the worst looking ones on earth !

Yes, I agree. One thing at a time. Any good sources for complementary door pins?

526 miles and things are still great. The car is really quiet compared to my 2011 E550 which has surprised me. Everyday there is something new to discover in the COMMAND system. Today I found out that there is a standard USB connection in the center console to which I could attach a 2TB WD HDD! Unreal!! I'm still sorting out the navigation on the Digital Operator's Manual which is installed in the COMMAND system. The car came equipped with Conti's which are quiet compared to the Michelins that I had on the previous car. I'm sure that some of the ride comfort is due to the fact that I special ordered the AIRMATIC suspension. Overall MPG is showing 27.5 on the meter. This compares with my overall MPG on the previous car of 23.9.

Yes, it is another feature that is cool. I've been playing with retrieving my e-mail from the car. So far, it's been working (webmail, of course) as are most of the other sites that I've tried.

I have a 2013 E 550 and while it performs we at higher speeds, it is not smooth as you roll l into a red light or in heavy traffic. The dealer is trying to locate the problem but no success yet. This behavior is not the recall the time. Sometimes it is smooth, or normal.

Does anyone have experienced the same problem? Thank you.
