So over the next month or so im going to start going for the blacked out look on my ride. I want to make a checklist of all the mods i need/places there is chrome to remove.

So far i know i need to do:
1) Remove chrome strip along driver/passenger doors
2) blackout chrome trim around windows
3) blackout chrome strip on trunk
4) blackout tail lights
5) new grille (not sure which one yet, need one that supports Dist+)
6) flat badge for hood (have but not installed yet)
7) black out my rims.
8) Star on trunk (bigigg)
9) front DRLs (bigigg)
10) tips (maybe) (bigigg)

Are there any other things people know of that im missing?

 

Benz star on trunk.
Exhaust tips if your looking to go that far
depending whats around your fog lights/led not sure

 

Ooh forgot about the star on the trunk, good catch. I do like the exhaust tips tho ill have to see how much they clash once the rest is done. I have the hockey stick LED lights up front....tho honestly never looked at them to see if there was chrome....ill have to check that when i leave work today

I don't wish to offend you but the blacked out (murdered look) is dead and far more appropriate for a Honda Civic slammed on 20's, rolled fenders and max camber. Give it up... high school kids drive these cars.

Is the "murdered out" look played out.. yes, but I wouldn't say its just a HS thing or civic thing.. Regardless it still looks good on most cars.

I've been looking at various blacked out E classes online, i still think it looks good, may not go the WHOLE way (leave rims/taillights) but i think ill enjoy it either way :p

why would you need a check list? if its not black, make it black.

 

Headlights...if you go ***** to the wall.

If you go blacked out...consider a little bit of color...like the calipers (red looks good). Just a touch of contrast isn't bad...with that said...if you do calipers in red I'd consider not going totally black on the rear tail lights.

 

Im not doing the work myself, im contacting a local shop so giving them the list of places and things that need to be done so they can get me a good quote.

 

I used plastidip and bought black wheels for both mine and my wife's cars. We are 30 and love the look, it's not for everyone. Most people don't get it. My peers do.

I went Kinda Murdered out,,lol. Just vinyl wrapped the window trim, top of door handles, chrome strip on trunk, and removed chrome strip from doors. Put a matte grille with flat hood emblem and painted my E550 badge black on trunk. Didn't do anything to the front or rear lights, except for the black side markers. I went with black and polished 20" wheel just to change it up from typical all black. My car is alot lower now than in the picture also, using a renntech v3.

My opinion....if you're putting rims/crazy "blacked out" scheme on anything less than an AMG....sure hope you don't have a lead foot in traffic and at the stoplight, otherwise you might attract attention from the wrong guy in the car next to you.

Prior to buying my e550 coupe, I had an M5 (e60) that had a Dinan motor and full exhaust. I would eat up the "all show and no go" guys just for the lulz. Funny how they used to tuck their ***** between their legs when they pulled up next to me at a stoplight, their cars all tricked out.
