Ethanol increase for gas
The US EPA is supportive of 15% ethanol being added to gasoline for all vehicles manufactured after 2001. A 50% increase from the current 10%.
While it may not be a mandate (yet), it will make it difficult to find non-ethanol gas and it will be expensive.
The gas companies, distributors and retailers will just sell the E15 because it is simpler and more cost-effective for them.
If you think this is a problem, contact your US Congress person and US Senator. NOW! Each one has a website and an e-mail contact.

BMW employs ethanol sniffers in there service departments.. come in with a drivability issue and they check for the presence of ethanol. If so they tell you to go through 2 tanks of Chevron Supreme...
I had a 2004 330ci ZHP that had a horrible hesitation under med to hard accel. At about 4500 it would fall flat on it's face. Above that it would run hard again. I did a lot of work, BMW replaced the ECU firmware DISA valve etc ad nauseum.
I figured out it was the engine knock sensors. I'd reset them at my shop and the car'd run great. Give it a few days and it would creep back in, reset the knock adaptations and guess what? It was gone again... I added 110oct race fuel in a mix and the problem never resurfaced.
Using Chevron Supreme exclusively also got rid of the problem. Ethanol under pressure such as hard acceleration will demonstrate wildly varying octane numbers ( I was told). More Ethanol and more problems unless your car is setup for it. My truck is a flex fuel ready vehicle and would not have issues with it.
