E550 bogging on cold start ups
Hello guys,
I have been lurking through this website for a few years. I owned a problematic c63 for the last 3 years, but because Canada does not have a lemon law I was pretty much screwed. Two weeks ago mercedes Canada finally decided to give me a little bit of an incentive to get out of my problematic car. Even though the incentive was shy of what I felt was a fair remedy for my 3 years of headache I took it because they said it was going to be their only offer and I was only allowed one week to decide... Furthermore I just wanted to end my 3 year nightmare with that car.
I was put into a 2012 E550, and it seemed to be performing fine until this evening. I was leaving a friends house and the temperature outside was about 5 degrees celsius (41 fahrenheit) and the car had sat for about 5 hours. When I started the car and began driving, the car began to bog as if it was going to stall. It also shifter rather weirdly (hard/ roughly) into second gear. It only did this for about the first 2-300 feet and seemed to return to normal.
I did a few searches on this topic, but only found some threads on a similar issue which involved getting a software update that didn't seem to resolve the issue.
From my 2 weeks of driving, the car only has 800KM (500 Miles) on it total. I am really concerned I am in another piece of junk... I am really loosing faith in Mercedes. (At least this one lasted 2 weeks before my 1st problem, the C63 was in the shop the same day I took it home because my lights stopped working).
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm waiting for a reply from someone else as I have a 2012 E550 too but have had no problems at all other than some squealing front brake pads.
I have 3000 KMs on mine (1860 miles).
The engine/transmission so far has been superb but am interested in a response from someone who may shead some light on your concern.

My 2012 E550 occaionally does the same thing after a cold start. It goes away like yours and runs fine after that. I haven't done anything about it because it would be hard to duplicate at the dealer. The next time I take it in for service I will have them check on it.

I have 2011 E550 natural Aspirated, at 41 degree Fahrenheit is not that extremely cold but most car will hesitate due to engine not being warm enough, Big Turbo-Charge engine especially like yours, letting engine run for few minutes will take prevent this. Most common problems and complains is the inferior brakes. Front brake system is inadequate for a car as heavy as the E class.
