Question this is the next wheel......I think....

drivers......

it's almost time to start the holidays: I'll go first........

planning on a different look for my E class.......and wanted to poll some
opinions on these P47SC's in a 19 x whatever
they have a nice mellow look and still have the good 'ole 5 spoke look that usually looks good on Mercedes.......the finish is what I'm kind of puzzled on for the moment.......but I'm not in a hurry; it'll come to me.......
I have been keeping my eye out for other wheels too.......it's just HRE seems to have all the bases covered when it comes to design...........
it's not like I haven't considered other wheels.......they just seem to have many styles that work very well......

this P45SC is similar but without the cut outs.....

We all know you can't go wrong with HRE and these look nice.
Not for me though. They look too much like stock wheels.
If I'm going to blow a few thousand bucks on wheels, they'd better look custom and have some pop.
Nothing wrong with looking stock but why spend big bucks when stock already looks like this?

hype, you probably better off to start your wheel business before getting any more sets at msrp . and most important of all, i'll do you a big favor . i'll help clean out your wheels before your wife finally can't stand them . i'll pay for shipping and you don't have to worry about cleaning them .

You must get Xmas cards from HRE for all the wheels you buy from them.

Nothing wrong with that in my book -- if I ever get aftermarket wheels again, it would be the 45.

Go for it and post pics!!

and was going to rely on the finish for that you know?

Hype, The wheel on top has my vote....Awesome! What's the ballpark price for HRE wheels, and do they accept farm animals in payment?

Hype, if you get these, it will be your 3rd set of HRE's? Plus all your other wheels you have sitting around. With the money you spent on all of them, could you imagine how nice of a garage you could have???? lol

My vote is for the top model with split spokes and in that finish. The chrome lip will be a PITA to clean and keep that way. Of course you enough sets that you can send them in once a month for cleaning like I do my sport coats.

You going the staggered route? 9.5" in the rear or 10" then comes tires...how much stretch are you going for? BTW - you know we have a member for sale section to help you purge when ready...

Polished lip would be even worse. I won't buy polished lip wheels anymore with all the hairline scratches they accumulate just from wiping them down.

I vote for the P45SC but in 20's.

Still classy but definitely a custom look.
To the guy who said chrome lips are a pain to clean....I don't get it. Chrome lips are mandatory in my book. Easy to clean and care for. Regular wax couple times a year and can be wiped without scratching regularly. The chrome makes them more durable against curb rash as well. The big plus, a look that pops and is worthy of the cash spent on wheels.

As far as curb rash goes, I'd rather have polished, even though I'd never get polished again. Curb rash on chrome wheels is impossible to fix without rechroming.

my black wheels were 5k and the ones on my cls were also 5ish, after a discount from the tire guys......

I hear you, and have wondered about the cleaning issue too, but I think I could handle it.......my blacks get wiped down almost daily and look really, really nice
don't think I'll stagger them........probably 19's......or maybe 18's again.....
depending on the model I choose

Great look. Simple, yet attractive.

Isn't there a medical condition named for this? . Like, indecisive wheel choice-a-fobia... Or, wheel-change-a-week syndrome?.... lol...

Hype - since you are thinking about going to 19's why not put the CLS wheels on the E to test drive the size / comfort for a week or two before deciding. You might find that it's no better / worse than the 20's and save yourself the hassle of getting 2 sets of the same wheel in different sizes.

Full disclosure: I would also get to see how well the CLS wheels fill out the fenders on a stock height car.

that isn't a bad idea point, but the wheels are staggered.....and I'm uncertain if they'd fit/work and not burn my transfer case up........
not planning on getting 20's either........that's just too big for me.....
