2012 E550 airmatic question?
I'm in Canada and my car will be sitting for a few months in a garage. I have 1800 miles on it.
Will my airmatic suspension fall and if it does, will there be any damage done to the shocks?
My dealer wasn't sure but one of the mechanics said there should be no problem but no one knows for sure. I'm asking if there is anyone out there who has had this experience and could share this information?

Since I've had no replies I guess the answer is no?
There's no one out there who has let a car with airmatic sit for a month or so to report if the car will fall and whether there will be any damage to the airmatic system itself. I figured this forum would have a better answer than the dealer who may be guessing.

The suspension should not drop even if the car was parked for a long time but the valves do not always close completely and then you never know for sure if the car stays properly up.
You might watch after it a week first if possible but if I would leave the car parked for a few months, I'd lift it up.
Shocks would not be affected but the air spring (air bellows) would not like staying flat for a long time. Might not kill them but not good either.

I stored my other Benz each year for 7 years doing the same thing but I didn't have airmatic. I changed the oil/filter, pumped up the tires to 50 PSI and put the car up on plastic covered boards under each tire. I then plugged in the Mercedes Benz battery charger, covered it up and when I returned, the engine started up just like summer. It's the airmatic shocks I was wondering about. I have since talked with the head Mercedes mechanic at my dealership and he didn't think it would bother the shocks if they dropped. He said he didn't think they would fall. I've had the car sit 5-6 days and nerer saw a difference.
Anyway, we have a motorhome and pull another car behind and that's why the Benz will be under wraps.
Any other opinions on this would be appreciated.

Toban, just send your car to my house, I'll keep it in my garage and switch back and forth from driving your car and mine until you get back...lol ,

I left my w211 in the garage for 4 months twice and when I get back this will be the second time that I have left my w212 for 4 months.
Upon start the car will warn you not to drive while it pumps air back into the system.
I didn't respond to your post when I first saw it because I had absolutely no idea what you thought was going to happen.
But at least now u know that I have done it 3 times, soon to be 4.
