Aren't all led bulbs the same in color?

I have no issues as well. I think some people just have semi-night blindness, or it's a vanity thing with the look of the car

Also with P1, I recommend changing to PIAA Xtreme White bulbs (H7 bulb type) and always drive with fogs on (can change them as well to H11 PIAA bulbs to match). These changes allow me to see deer off side of road without using high beams.

The OP says that when he drives with high beams on he does not get flashed by the on-coming traffic. Could it be that his lights are dimmer than they shoul? Is there a voltage controller that could be giving less volts for the lights than it should?

Possible that lights are not properly functioning.

However, I never get flashed and my halogen headlights are aimed straight ahead.

I did not get P2...probably because I never had a chance to drive a W212 at night before I bought one! I did not think I needed Keyless Go, either, which fails to work intermittently on my ML.

P2 Bi-Xenon lights are one of the best part of this car. It is like sunrise when you put them on high-beam. And they also are like natural color. No stupid blue at all.

I looked at the P2 package and there really wasn't anything on it I wanted-especially for the cost. The money itself was not a factor, but I don't want to purchase something I don't use or need.
The halogen lights on my E and on previous cars are very good for the night driving I do.

I'm converting the headlights to HID, and the parking lights to LED.
I'm thinking 4500 for the HID kit, and I hope they match the parking lights. The drl's are pretty white.
I'm thinking the 5K lights are a little too white, anybody change theirs to 4500, or 5K?

HUMM - BM2BZ Your right about OEM, BUT I was talking about HID! You do have choices with 4500, and 5K and so on. . .
Thanks for your input -
I decided to go with the (4500). And if I decide I don't like them I can just change the bulb to a 5K.
Oh by the way, I went with a 55 Watt Ballast, which slightly changes the color also.

Sometimes the dealers just dont have the P2 cars which suuucks !!! When the W204's first came out in late 2007 the wait for a P2 vehicle was months so rather waiting i got a P1 intead and added a HID kit days after picking up the car.

I agree with most here that all MB should have HIDs included ...... for crying out loud all Acura's do ????

Hi, I'm new in this forum.

I was thinking about to change my 2011 E350 AMG full pack light with phillips/Hella HID kit on 6k. I think that would be look so nice. What do you guys think?
And I guess if the light is not bright enough, try to clean the headlamp and install a voltage stabilizer. I'm just saying.

i think 6k is a bit more on the blue side. if you want slightly brighter, try 5k.

i just upgraded my halogen bulb, thats what i did, replaced the lenses to Bi-xenon lenses, osram d2s bulb, audi ballast. no i have 2 set of high beam, one is halogen one is xenon, which is better and brighter than d e550's factory fitted smart headlamp unit. hope it will help you. it will need to crack d head light open in order to replace d lenses. it will be a pain in d *** tho, check utube, must be lots of "how to" tells u wat to do or need

I asked my dealer to take a look at what parts it would take to retrofit the HID headlights for my car. So far I need:

The Headlights w/o night vision
the ballasts
the harnesses between the headlights and the ballasts

My dealer should be able to provide the identification of the rest of the parts I need. They were very helpful when I was researching retrofitting my former C300's factory navigation system. I will let you all know if they provide the info for me. So far they are saying they are gonna provide it for me. Then it is my job to get the parts as inexpensive as I can.

I'm happy with the 4500 HID kit from DDM - The color is real close to the DRL's.

Does adding the hid kit void a part of the warranty?

Oh boy, bumping an ancient thread to ask this question.

Let's start with the legal question first. In short, there is no legal HID conversion kit made for any car in any country that regulates lighting.

Next, let's look at the warranty questions. In denying a warranty claim, the manufacturer (via the dealer) must show that the mod caused or contributed to the problem. With lighting that bar is pretty low. This mod modifies wiring and electrical load. It may cause error messages and may use tricks to fool the system into believing that the halogen lights is still there. Since electrical systems on modern cars are all interconnected, a failure in one part of the system may easily cause a failure in a (seemingly) unrelated system.

Adding some sort of different bulbs or a HID lighting kit will certainly cause warranty woes on any front lighting issues and may cause issues with ANY part of the electrical system.

On another board we used to play "Six degrees of Kevin Bacon" and see if we could connect any mod to any failure. We were almost always successful.

Will you have warranty issues? Nobody can tell you that as it depends on the failure, the dealer and the phase of the moon. That's the reason why you need to take the "no problem, just do it" posts with a big grain of salt. Those posters aren't at your dealership, with your service advisor and the identical failure.
