He obviously put the badge on because he's trying to make it look like an E63 AMG.
HONESTLY PEOPLE, WHY DOES EVERYONE CARE ABOUT THE BADGE?
SO WHAT?!?!?!?
I can put an SLS AMG badge on my E350 if I wanted to...In fact, I just might
WHY WOULD YOU CARE???!?!?!? NORMAL PEOPLE DON'T CARE! If I went to my neighbor right now and told them that I put an E63 badge on my E350, it wouldn't/shouldn't affect them...Jeez people
"The ultimate poser car: with money spent, one could have bought a real E63 or at least E550."
Why not just stick a badge on it? Not everyone is a millionaire and can spend money on E63's at the drop of a hat. Why do you care about the badge? Don't look at it if you don't want to!
"Beautiful car ruined by idiotic badging."
In case you weren't aware, the E class comes in an E63 AMG model. That's why he has a badge saying E63 AMG. If he put E65 AMG, that would be stupid. Please check your facts on the E class before calling his badge "idiotic." In case you have never heard of the E63, which obviously you haven't because the badge seems "idiotic" to you, please visit your dealership.
So close, but so, so far away.
I think he did a pretty good job. Could you do better? It's okay to admit you're jealous that he did pretty awesome AMG mods to it.
"I think he did a pretty good job. Could you do better? It's okay to admit you're jealous that he did pretty awesome AMG mods to it." - Not at all. No problems with AMG mods, except the badging. I bet all G37 (new accord/maxima/Es350, etc.) owners must think that its the slowest E63 around (or the slowest driver in it). Its one thing to do body modification. Its absolutely fine. Wrongful badging is something else - false image. To me its no different from a dude I saw the other day in a pre-2000 CLK320 with an AMG badge. Rediculous.

No I'm not jealous. Not one bit.
Let me clarify since you're obviously to obsorbed with yourself to realize what I meant. The physical "E63" and "AMG" isn't idiotic, It's idiotic because it's on a car that isn't an E63.
BTW to the OP, you didn't even put on the correct AMG badge. If you pose, at least get the details right.

Nice Job!
HID lights? did you retrofit Factory HIDs? If so can you outline the steps for doing so. I have that on my list for my first mod.

Well, honestly those pedals look cheap and very tacky , the owner should have bought original AMG pedals imo

we're all big Benz fans and give a crap about those who pose.......
just sayin'

And now: yes, the posing in this thread is at an all time high

How do the AMG double tips mount on the tail pipe? Doesn't AMG actually have 4 pipes and not just two?
I would like this mod as it would really enhance the looks of the car in the rear, not to fool anybody it being an AMG. I would still keep my real E550 badge on the trunk.

As my initial thread stated "I will probably de-badge the car, but it was interesting seeing people's reactions" i wanted to shake up the emotions on the street, but i got a bigger response on the site, and that makes it fascinating to me -
MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!.
Heck, I m probably one of the only original SL55 owners in 2003, when I preordered it from Germany 9 months in advance to have them completely DE-BADGE the car, so that it would be more of a sleeper. On my subsequent ones I left the Badges on.
AS i mentioned in my original thread, I expected the response and welcomed it. Thank you all for your input. It takes takes time, effort and money to tune our cars, so thank you for those that recognize the work that went into it and the praises, as for those with strong badging opinions, well i have to agree with you, the car looks better De-badged. and that is my next MOD
- and might I say the cheapest one yet!H&R lowering Springs (maybe won't- Don't want to compromise ride)

oh and let us not forget the De-badging
