+1. Well said, Mb-Jim. If I would want a BMW (or thought it was a better car), I would get one. And if I wanted to discuss one in great details, I would do it on a BMW forum. Enough already. Just move on.

Most definitely (sorry MB-Jim). Thanks and will do, still waiting for this spoiler to get in which should add to the effect. To those expressing butthurtisms, this is just where the thread went, being one of the most regular members of the 212 forum since its inception I could have started a thread documenting the switch but it seemed like some members were interested in following it here (I did start this thread after all anyway).

Here you go. I guess this is the last pic I'm allowed to post on the sacred W212 forum. Special dedication to MB-JIM & ThreeMBs.

I think the new design looks better on the coupe.

Agree Tjdehya. IMHO, coupe always looked better than sedan (E550 coupe vs. E350/E550 sport sedan, and E350 coupe vs. E350/E550 luxury sedan) from all angles except the direct front (even when sedan is fitted with "optional" star grille, sorry K-A). Now from 2014 on, it (coupe) will (look better) from all angles without any exceptions.

Anybody have specifics on what the "Next Gen Attention Assist" is? Because the first gen is pretty much only good for bragging about "my car knows when to wake me up".... unfortunately, the real function of it does anything but.

K-A don't take the 535i badge off the rear of this car like you did on the MB, otherwise people might confuse the car with a 3 series. It is really confusing for the non Bimmer owners...............They all look so alike...
I just had to do this!

btw, from the photos on the MBUSA website of the 'new' W212, it appears that they've picked from the C Class parts bin a bit more. And now that they eliminated the traditional clock (and are using the S/CL style instead), the instrument cluster is the same as the C Class cluster.
This is a pretty radical change in only 4 years time. I think that they're fighting to grab a share of a changing demographic (like the Republican Party discovered, lol.)

Meaning you weren't too proud of the 3.5 V6 in your E350 and maybe hoping people might have thought it was a 5.5 liter V8?

The "535i" expresses something that I actually have some enthusiasm about (engine on the car) and IMO isn't as ubiquitous a signage since you see 5-Series' broken up into more model designations (therefore less focus on just one). So I don't feel it takes away from the look aesthetically.

Na, not that I was proud or un-proud of it, I just never got the car for the engine and although finding the engine totally appropriate for the car, didn't find it anything that conjured up passionate feelings. Also, you just see "E350" on the back of so many cars nowadays that I wanted the clean look which distinguishes it. As for V8 that definitely wasn't the case, I probably would have de-badged an E550 too. I was the first to tell people that my car was a 6 Cylinder, I just didn't care about the HP/engine/performance about the E so much, regardless of V6 or V8 that I wanted it off.

K-A, your nose is going to grow.
You should delete that silly post before too many people read it.

In his defense, he spent the better part of his 20's driving underpowered E350's with questionable handling and plastic seats. To make matters worse he spent countless hours on this forum extolling the virtues of everything Mercedes to justify any and all decisions he made. Now that he is actually driving a nice sporty sedan with a great engine, solid handing, with a nicely designed interior with real leather seats - it has probably blown his mind.
K-A is changing his positions more often than Mitt Romney.

Let's cut K-A some slack.

It's only sad because the most activity and excitement in the E-forum of late has been about K-A's BMW.
Enjoy the ride, K-A. It's a beautiful car, regardless of make. And thank you for kicking up the views and posts here as it's otherwise been a bit stale.
Ahh, but the refresh is coming soon!
