Wheel question

Im torn between 20 or 22 when comes to wheels. I like the look of both pretty equally, though right now the 22's seem to have the slight edge on looks, and the wheels i want are available in both sizes, so heres my questions.

Is there any reason to go with one or the other?
Tire selection?
Tire price?
Ride quality?
gas mileage/performance?

any and all info or opinions will be appreciated!

Thanks

PS Will be getting the Modulare M22 or M11

22" is really pushing it on a car that only has a 25.7" tire diameter. I hope you plan on lowering it a couple inches.

Thanks for they reply. Makes sense that 22's would be a bit too much if the tire diameter is 25.7. Thanks for the info, I appreciate it... And yes will definitely be lowering a couple inches. Almost slammed. Doing KW or maybe eibachs

The biggest you could safely go would be 21"
But if you look at most of the members here with aftermarket wheels you will notice that the E-Class looks perfect with 20's... unless you are going for the "donk" look... if you are going for a donk... then you bought the wrong car!

with all due respect, 22's just seem to big! kind of clown car like.........(says the guy with an Orange car!!! haha)
just one guys opinion man.....
but several guys here have 20's, and although they look a hair big to me, they're
not as odd looking as 22's on our cars

goodluck!

Any suggestions on the right tire and size for the wheels? 20" Modulare M22. Staggered. Thanks again.

Sick choice on wheels! All depends on your budget for tire choices.

Thanks, man! Ordered it (cost me a pretty penny 4500 of them lol) and should be ready to go on my ride mounted, sensors, alignment, lowered in about a month. Will definitely post pics soon as I have them.

Will be lowered on KW springs. I was hesitant buying these at first because of it's sheer mammoth price (1700) but after looking into it and researching, I believe these will be best. Best to retain ride quality and sporty handling. I shall see. Plus it's always nice to adjust the lowered height as you please.

With tires, I went with what was recommended from the shop dealer, and went with the Falken's 452. 245/30/20 in front and 285/25/20 in rear. Offset et32 and et38-42. The rears was 400 each and front was 265 each. Not knowing much about anything about tires but to me it seemed like this are okay tires? Could have I gotten better ones if I paid more, I woudn't know lol. But 400 and 265 seems like a lot of money for tires.

What width are your wheels? I'm running 20x8.5 front, and 20x9.5 rear. Both -35 offsets with 235x35x20 f tires and 275x30x20 rear tires. I wanted a little more rubber on the rear then going with a 25 series tire, its a rubber band and a pothole hater. I am lowered about 1 3/4" front and 1 7/8" rear. If your front wheel is a 8.5 width, that -32 is way to aggressive and might stick out past the fender, my -35 is perfectly flush with no rub. Check out my photos in my garage to get a look... Good luck

It's 8.5 front, 10 at the rear. About that -32, I brought that issue up and my dealer assured me there will be no rub. Thanks for letting me know and I will definitely be taking a close look at it.

Btw, I checked out your pics in your garage. Nice wheels? What kind are they?

They are just a AMG replica wheel I purchased off of ebay. Definitely look into that offset, and do a search on this forum because there are many older topics about wheel fitment on here that may help you. My -35 in the front on the 8.5" wide wheel is flush as can be, so I can almost assure you that -32 will protrude outside the fender a bit.

In any case, unless you drive only on glass smooth roads, make sure the wheels are made from concrete. Or, at least get a policy to cover wheels and tires. In my area, your wheels an tires would not last a weekend. Potholes, invisible speed bumps and minor road irregularities are not kind to large diameter wheels.
