2013 E350 Wagon - ready for snow and skiing (shameless bragging photo attached)
i didn't wait for the best lighting, but have the snow wheels/tires on and the ski rack.
quite happy with the way the wheels ended up looking (they are Breyton BE GTS-AV - went with 18" as that was same as the OEM AMG style wheels i had)
anyway, wo-hoo and off to the mountains today for some skiing.

Awesome
Very nice looking rig. Can you give details on the rack system you have. What is your oopinion of it overall? We are looking at ski/bike and top box systems for our 2013 e350.

Have fun
I think you don't need to chain up when hitting the mountains

After some debate (i had a thread going earlier) i actually just went with the OEM MB system.
I really like the look/low profile of the whispbar low profile ones, but it wont let you open sun roof - like ever. (it is too low as it is flush with the existing roof rails, so when the sun roof opens back it would run smack into the bars).
so, looked at other options from Whispbar and Thule too, but actually the MB basic rack was cheaper (about $370 CDN versus about $500 for Thule or Whispbar). I didnt ever really expect to say "the Mercedes part cost less" but...there you go. it did.
while i was ordering one thing from MB, also ordered the ski rack (not the large one, just the four ski one). There are two sets of adult skis (decent width, not massive powder skis, but not skinny either) and 2 sets of kid skis and they all fit in the rack without much problem. 4 sets of adult may be tight....but we are about 10+ years from worrying about that.
i just installed them yesterday, so no real 'road test' of them yet. They were easy to install though That will make them easy to remove, and my plan is to remove them once ski season is over (on long summer road trips i have a thule box that we might use, but i can just install the rails for that trip).
