Officially farewell W212, Hello F10 (new pics)....
i totally agree with the BMW jet black paint comment. i had a E36 328 in jet black for 9 years, and on the day i sold it when the new owner drove it off my driveway, the paint still looked good.
K-A, your F10 has the M package? the only thing i don't like about the F10 is the round tail pipes. even M5's round quad tail pipes don't look good. i remember seeing that's being changed for 2014 on some spy photos. anyone can confirm that?
enjoy this black beauty, K-A!
Yeah it has the M Sport Package which is cool especially because on the F10 it's still relatively "rare", i.e it's still a $2,900 charge for one (which is significantly less than it cost in 2011 and a little less than it cost in 2012).
Yeah, BMW Jet Black is SO sharp looking, I've seen this car next to some black M-B's and the BMW black seems a lot more concentrated, almost "candy-ish", but maybe that's all the Sealant and Wax on mine.
I'm just not sure about how it'll last in terms of masking swirls and such, but your comments are confidence inspiring!Yeah, for the tailpipes they come in 3 forms. The 528i has the classic BMW dual pipe setup (I think dual but maybe single) on one side, then the 535i has the dual exhaust with round tailpipes (on M Sport cars it's "black chrome" which looks really cool and unique though could be mistaken for being super dirty or hard to see, lol), and then on 550i's it's the W212 style "trapezoidal" or whatever they call it.
Funny thing is on the F10 Boards a lot of 550 guys hate their angular pipes because they feel the look isn't aggressive enough and just kind of blends in with the bumper cutouts, and prefer the round pipes. I actually have always liked the round pipe look 'cause it's just a timeless and pretty sporty look, IMO, but I get what you're saying. And I totally agree about the M5's pipes and diffuser, not a good look on this body style.
Yeah I wouldn't be surprised if the 2014 facelift has a new tailpipe setup. Now I gotta go look at the spy pics to see what you mean, lol.

By hot girlfriend, do you mean...

By hot girlfriend, do you mean...

Your apparent jealousy flatters me.
For my friends on the forum, as I have said before: "Arguing with K-A is like wrestling with a pig in the mud... after a while, you realize the pig likes it!
Just because someone has thousands of posts, doesn't mean he can't be a troll.

you are more then welcome here still. You always bring great discussion to the forums. Enjoy the new ride! PS: You may spend most of your time keeping it clean
Or maybe his only form of communication is via e-mail and online forum browsing

Do you work bro? Freakin serial killer man. Leave already.

OMG, what a baby. "NO TALKING ABOUT OTHER CARS HERE! HOW DARE YOU LIKE SOMETHING ELSE!".
Some of my friends here need to get a life. Lots of bitter people here. What happened since I "left"? I need to bring some lightness back in this piece.

Sorry to see you go as your time will be spend more on the Bimmer forums, I'm sure. I do not 100% agree with all of the posts you say just as I know you don't agree with mine. That's the "salt" of these forums. But I always thought the info from you was some of the better info to rely on.
Enjoy your "Bavarian Beast". They make very high quality cars. Myself I never was a big BMW fan but this does not mean they are not good vehicles. For some reason I just never liked them to the point to purchase one...
Hopefully, despite of some hateful posts towards you by some other members, you could find time to post here about your new rig as how it runs etc. Some of us might be thinking to jump the boat if we knew more about where to jump to...
Thanks for your many helpful posts.

Some of these absurd personal attacks and hostility toward this Message-Board-Character of mine from some of these other E-characters stem from I don't know what, but hey it's just a Car Forum. All in good fun and hate I guess, though it's distracting from the focal point at hand: CARS!
I'll be giving you guys updates for sure. So far so good but hopefully I don't get hit with any of those BMW reliability bugs!
enough.
I'll sum it up for everyone and then we can close this crap:
1. kid likes 212 like its the best car in the world
2. kid gets 5 series, now thats the best car in the world
3. Kid types 500 posts about how he has to clean a black car
ENOUGH
Thank god hes not a Moderator. You would be like Hitler and turn this board into a 5 series stroke off.

I think black looks good with the F10, but....
Yeah, it was one of 3 available for the year end deal/coupon I wanted. It had EXACTLY the Options and MSRP I wanted, so the other two I couldn't really consider.
I initially wanted white but had some reservations about being too repetitive (another F10 I was looking at was white with Oyster/Black, just like my Almond/Black). I would have never considered a black car before, just totally off my radar, but as soon as Jon told me the options, I started thinking of a black car, looking up black F10 M Sports, and like that, it just started seeming so cool, so different for me. Not to mention black as a color itself (not on cars before, though) is perhaps my favorite.
So yeah, the upkeep on it made it so I'd have never considered one before, but this car kind of convinced me to try it out. I'm ecstatic over the effect, but obviously reserved about the upkeep and longevity of how well I can maintain it.
Jon is a rad guy.
I ended up going for an Audi A5 Sportback Quattro with all the goodies
