Cabin filter....
#26
Hope I'm not hijacking the thread - if so, someone let me know!
This is a CPO car, no accident damage and the previous owner was the service manager at the Benz dealer I bought from. He bought it from the guy the dealer sold it to at 22k miles. According to my sales guy, they both were super an@l about maintenance. In fact, carfax indicated 14 entries - and the list they showed indicated the stuff I'd expect for this mode/year (brakes three times before 9k, instrument cluster rattle, etc).
For my musty smell from the air conditioning, they used these parts:
212-830-03-18 Combination Filter 3919 IUP
CPP038 Kit - Fresh Air disinfectant
Checked, cleaned drains
And that seems to have helped the AC issue - but it's not high humidity summer season here yet. I also may follow the advice on creating your own, more effective carbon filter here too.
If it continues to smell 'old', I'll ask the dealer about the odor bomb. Thanks for the tip!
