1960 Corvair coupe. Ralph Nader was right, it was unsafe at any speed!

I totaled it when the back end let go on a bumpy, curvy back road.

Regards,
Don

2010 E350 Luxury Sedan, Engine 272 (V6)
ford

1965 Ford Galaxie 500 sedan purchased in late 1968. Great car for my last year and college and first year in Army. Carried everything I owned. Sold it when I went to Vietnam.
Got a '71 Dodge Challenger when came home. Turned me off Chrysler products forever.

E350 Coupe
1957 Triumph TR3 purchased in 1963 when I turned 16. Only kid in my school with a British sports car. This was the beginning of a love of 2 seater sports cars. I've had one for 49 years now. Triumphs, an MGB, two Pontiac Fiero's (great little cars both...especially the V6) and last but not least my 1990 Miata purchased Dec 1989 turned 23 this Dec.

Ooooh...my wife and I bought a '63 Triumph Spitfire for her with wires and trick suspension in 1972 and she loved it. Fast little bugger and hugged the road like a vacuum cleaner.

I learned to drive in 1975 with a 1969 Chevy Impala, Blue with the 327 (235 Hp). That was the last year for the 327. I burned through a tire or two.... <ME> Dad

I'm so glad to experience that motor... <not the lectures on racing.... >

1964 Corvair Monza in 1970. Paid $250.00 for it, drove it for a year and sold it for $250.00. One of my better car deals.

Petee1997, I bet you wished you still had that one. They are pulling very decent numbers at auction and they're just a beautiful car.

My first was a hand-me-down 1969 Chevy Impala coupe. It became mine in 1975. 350 cu. in. V8, small 4 brl Rochester Carb, Two Speed Turbo Hydramatic transmission. The thing would chirp the tires when it shifted into 2nd at 75 mph. Great car.

Paid $75. No title, no tags. I was 16 yo, too young for a driver's license. I hid it in the woods behind the house and drove it to school every day.

let me do the math here. even if it was a 10 years old used car, you are either 80 or 81. that's what we call young at heart ! welcome to the forum !

2020 E450 Wagon
1960 VW Beetle that I had to BUY from my father. I don't remember it having a radio. It also didn't come with a fuel gauge. When the car started to run out of fuel, you were supposed to turn a lever under the dash to switch to a small reserve portion of the fuel tank. Problem was my Dad, or anyone else I asked, had a clue which way was which. What Fun!
Planted the thing into the side of a full size GM product (Pontiac Catalina I think) when they ran a stop light. That was the end of that. I would hate to think of how many cars since.

1973 Dodge Charger. I purchased it off of the show room floor six months before I got my drivers license. It was a long six months waiting for my license!

93 300CE Cabriolet, 13 E350 Sport Wagon
1984 Saab 900 Turbo

Purchased it used from Foothills SAAB in 1985. Slate blue metallic over tan velour. Front wheel drive, five speed, ignition between the heated seats, all the options plus some great accessories like the rear louvers, mudflaps, European one piece headlights, electric mirrors and locks, perimeter alarm (if you put your arm through the sunroof while it was armed the alarm would go off) trumpet horns and off road swaybars and shocks. I loved all 224K miles I put on that car. Took me between Chicago and Ft Collins CO during my undergrad and many city living years after. Great mountain car, I think it was the first time I ever felt brand affinity like that. There were very few SAABs in the mid west back then, and every time I passed one we would flash the brights at each other.
