Just the thought of seeing upright, stately, mature looking non-AMG E-Classes stoplight racing, or getting revved on, is humorous to me.
(not defending Arrie, a lot what he says elsewhere I do not agree with), but...

That's because you've never driven an E550 coupe. Its a beast stock (no AMG needed IMO). In two years I had it, I had many occasions to prove it. BTW, how many cars out there can take on AMGs to even attempt to race them?

Almost everyone wants to race MB cars?

I can't imagine anyone looking to race an E350 unless it was heavily modded: Lowered with aggressive wheels, tints, AMB badges, etc.

Oh, and if anyone actually modded an E350 like they are probably looking for stop light frivolity.

wonder what the most would be from the 350.....
anyone know the max stats for it?

550 is fast, but damn, to get into the speed you really need to step on the petal........and a lot of lag too......but whatever, I knew I wanted a V8 when I was shopping back in 2010.......and it was the best to me out of the V8 choices

Hype, the "gap" between E350 (2012-on) and E550 (pre or post 2012, does not matter) is as big as between your E550 and former E63, even with lag since 350s have it too.

I still wonder a what a tuned 350 could do........even though that would be a waste of something.........

IMHO, the only way to "tune" 350 is to get 550 in the first place.

The E350 would be difficult to get much of a HP gain with a simple tune because it is not turbo.

Aren't the newer ones twin turbo? If so, I am sure somebodys (aftermarket company) out there to turn up the wick and get that thing to move, a little. The older engine with 268hp is a lost cause.

Only the V8 E550 has the TT.

I love my wife's E550. Plus you should get the MB, because I don't think anyone is tuning the BMW yet.

I was talking about the E Sedan, of course. The E Coupe I can see people considering more "rev up on", though even then, most are 350's with no AMG Package and look not too sporty.

An E550 Coupe is indeed a beast. A big V8 with that power in a C-Class chassis/sized 2 door is just beastly. In reality, power to weight wise I'm sure the new TT V8 in it would be good enough to warrant them slapping an "AMG" badge on it.

Isn't the E550 Coupe built on the C class chasiss? I have driven them both and the coupe feels nice, but I need the 4 Matic this time around.
I am searching high and low for a 2012 E550 sedan with the right options.

As much as i love MB,I envy all the features in the new BMW's. i really like how they put little camera's in the front fenders so you can see out ahead without pulling your car out to foreword, and DAT 6 series.................pure mo fuggin sex! As much as i hate to say it ,MB is falling behind on their tech and design on their new cars. in-fact,i have the perfect example, the 2014 E Class, HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE step backwards.
