unofficial launch control?

How are you getting sideways in your 550? If I paddle down to first and stomp on it in my '11 550, all the computer gizmos kick in and keep me from fish tailing at all.

Wait I'm confused, the OP drives an E550 according to his avatar, yet people keep mentioning an E350?
I'm surprised you get ricers trying to race you, I almost NEVER get any attention from ricers or anyone to be honest lol. Ricers tend to find other ricers to play with, not euro cars.
Even in my modded Audi, I hardly ever got attention from someone trying to play.
Either way, there is no way to launch these cars, the torque converter lock up is so low that it doesn't provide for enough revs to be considered a launch. Just put the HOLD on and mash the pedal when the light turns green. I have yet to be beaten by a car doing that. Our cars are torque monsters.

I'll bet if you bought your own car you could pick it out! Maybe something like an STI or a tricked out civic would fit your budget. Might be time to be a little humble instead of cruising the boulevard in your parents car picking battles with kids who paid for their own ricers...just sayin.

It is. I really think it's worth the money. I bought mine used for 175.00 from another active member here on the forum. It is like night and day with the 550. If it's the only mod you do for under $500, make this THE one. You will not regret it. Brought a smile to my face immediately. Plus I'm betting you can resell it when you move on to another vehicle.

Silver spoons, get real dude. My parents got me a car they thought was right for me and I'm a bad person for that? Im also a bad person for not buying my own car? On top of this, I'm the most humble person about everything i have, i don't show off anything, to anyone. I realize i have it "good" compared to other people, i don't take anything for granted..... I appreciate the input, helpful or otherwise..

I can vouch for Bob that there is little to no chance that he is a "Silver Spooner"
I have been to Hesperia many times and there aint much of those there...

um, looks like your parents got you TWO cars, and one wasn't fast enough for your liking so naturally you got an "upgrade" when they bought you a new one. You're a bad person for taunting kids in ricers (kids who have paid for what they're driving) in your daddy's car. It's not YOUR car, you didn't buy it, it's daddy's car. His name is on the registration, his name is on the insurance and his name is on the gas card(because we both know YOU aren't fueling up a 400hp v8). You did not appreciate what you had, because as soon as you wrecked it(accident?) you asked for something bigger. Being early 20's and driving around in a $70k car when you have no source of income is showing off. probably doesn't stick out too much in the vineyard vines wearing frat crowd.
