20" Wheel Options - Please help

Hello All,

I have a quick question:

I am about to fit some 20" rims to a 2011 E Class.

The widths are 8.5 ET35 front and 9.5 ET35 rear.

My question is about tire sizes.

Would a 245/35/20 front and a 275/30/20 back work?

Can I fit a 275/35/20 back or is that too big? I'd imagine a 255/35/20 would definitely fit back?

Thanks

There are a bunch old post on here about this topic, so I would recommend doing a search. I have the same wheel sizes and offsets and I went with 235x35x20 front and 275x30x20 rear. I am lowered and the tires are perfect for my appilication and fitment. If you don't lower, I think the 245's in the front will be ok, but I'm not positive. The other post share the reasons for rubbing on different sizes and offsets, so the search would help you the most.. Here is my post when I was getting ready to order tires,https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...ire-sizes.html , Good luck.

Thank you Robbie,

I did see those threads which got me a little confused as I was seeing sidewalls of 20 and 25 used. They are not available over in Dubai and need to be imported which are damn expensive to do.

I've basically sold a set of 20" rims to an E class owner and only ever fitted 20" to the S class before so have no experience in tire size. I know the S on a 20 uses 255/35/20 and 275/35/20 and thought I could use that but before ordering the tires, I decided to check and then it came acros a thread where someone was running a 235 as a 245 wouldn't fit - albeit lowered.

I'd imagine 255/35/20 rear will fit as it's the same height as the 275/30 give or take a few mm but now I'm wondering about the front.

Thanks again for your help buddy

Its been made clear that a 245/35/20 will rub the spring plate whether you lower or not.. soo id consider 235/35 front 275/30 rear.. will work great.
