warranty issues....... >:(

hello you wonderful little scally wags! I made a thread about 2 months ago discussing rattling in my car, and how the dealer did not want to fix it. anyway it wasent fixed and I'm out of the 50,000 warranty and on to my extended one. first of all I'm assuming under the extended warranty the rattles are not going to be fixed, but since I have been there many times, can I tell them that they "OWE" me a fix since they were not able to do it when the original warranty was intact? the other question is, it seems like my car has a busted rear speaker, and that is the reason I'm taking my car in, would that be considered covered under the extended warranty or am I s#!t out of luck there as well?

As long as the issue was documented during the regular warranty period, in my experience, this was sufficient to have the resolution carried forward. That said, you already have been to the same dealer several times and they have told you they are not going to fix it. I would place a call to the MB regional office and have them recommend an alternate dealer to take the vehicle to for this one issue. I think they will be helpful.

Since you live in CA, you may wish to consider Lemon Law. Also, I think there is a section in Owners Manual re: problems with a specific section for CA.

I don't think I will be able to use the lemon law, my car has over 50000 miles, the lemon law only covers 18,000 miles after purchase. :/

I called the MB corporate office, they did document it and simply said that we work with the dealer to provide the best service, if they can't fix it, your S#!t out of luck.

My MB SA once told me that you could blow your motor at 49,999 and have it replaced under warranty, but if it blew up again at 50,001 you were SOL. Not sure how accurate that is but good luck either way.

I would request that they provide you with the name of a dealership with the expertise to fix your issue. The dealer's refusal to fix it should be good enough for them to realize that you are not receiving MB levels of customer service. If your goal is resolution, then you need to be dilligent. If the repair is not too costly, I would probably just have it fixed. Unless there is more to this story that you are not sharing, I believe this would be a fairly simple thing to get approved by MB. Why has your dealer given up on you?

there Is nothing else I can add to this story, what you
see is what is happening. the reason the dealer gave up on me is because they don't think that the rattles are abnormal. I on the other hand, know they are not normal, my aunt has a 2011 w212 as well and not ONE speak out of her car. also she had almost 70,000 miles on her car, 20,000 more then mine and never has she had a problem of any kind with her car.
