Hey Timurik, got the straight DRL LED's today. Thought i was going to be able to put them on this weekend. Unfortunately parts.com sent me one grill cover with holes in the plastic mesh and the other without the holes in the mesh. Since they don't have a phone number who knows when they'll respond. I live in N.Y. took only 5 days, I was surprised.

If you prefer not to solder or tap into the original harness you can use the cables below. You can also use a spdt relay on each side of the car to flip between the fog and drl cable. This way the LEDs come on durring the day, when you unlock the car or manually turn on the fogs. This method will also prevent bulb out warnings.

Thanks again Kalt. Not sure what I'm going to do yet. I really want to hook them up to the ignition. I may have to bring it to the Speedshop and let them wire them. Otherwise I may do what Timurik did. In any case you don't have to solder the wires, you can splice them. I'll take the pics and try to give you guys a blow by blow, even when I decide what to do with the wires.

Hey Julian, the holes are completely normal. If you go to a dealership, the cars will have those holes. Don't worry about that.

Kalt, may I ask what was the reason of ordering a second set of the light? Your first is still working, right?
#66
The first set is still working fine, i purchased them two months ago to replace the hockey style LEDs on my E coupe. I decided to get a second set for my fiancée E sedan because i got tired of the looking at the round lights, plus i recently installed an aftermarket HID kit on her car and wanted the DRL's to match. I got tired of waiting and ended up buying a third set from parts.com

Thanks Timurik. Hate to disappoint everyone but i went to my local speedshop and they are going to install the straight LED's for $80.00 with resistors for the round DRL's. Not sure if the $80 includes the resistors for the fog lights I think he forgot to add them in. But anyway I'm also getting the HID ballast kit with resistors for the headlights for $160. I figured for the $240 it's well worth it, better than spending 5 hrs of labor. But I'll take before and after pictures. Thanks guys for all the help.

That's a really good price for the installation. As for resistors - please note that they can go bad easily. And depending on the way they set up the resistors in the electrical chain, you might end up going to the shop every time the resistor burns out. Ask them to check and see if they can avoid using resistors and just connecting the LEDs straight to the DRL wires. I suspect that you might not have any errors. Good luck.

Thanks Timurik for the heads up, these guys are cool with me. If the stuff starts burning out they won't be ridiculous with charging me. But I'll ask the question about hooking the LED's without the resistors. I agree why use them if they're not necessary.

Yeah baby, got some pics.
Sorry guys, Can't help much with the installation part. But i was told it was a pain. He didn't remove the front tires since they have a lift. Got all the halogen lights replaced with LED bulbs and replaced the headlights with the HID lights with the ballast. Really happy. He used resistors for the fog lights and i disabled the daytime running lights to clear the display fault. i don't think he used anymore resistors. Thanks everyone for all the help. Special thanks for Timurik for showing us, it could be done.
