UPDATE: The saga continues as the symptom has resurfaced. Called SA, and he said possibly camera is defective suggesting replacement is next step. They did test the camera before taking voltage readings, but as this is intermittent problems...who knows?

 

Make sure all of the repair activities are clearly noted on the service order in case this issue cannot be easily resolved. There are lemon laws to protect against recurring issues.

My Comand unit was replaced once for the audio issue, never had an issue with the backup camera.

so my camera stop working and my cigarette light was stuck earlier replaced the 15 amp fuse and both problems got fixed might want to check your fuses in the trunk of your car maybe the problem there good luck.

If you don't see the images behind your car in reverse sometimes and sometimes you do, it very likely a wire in the trunk is being slowly cut. When you do not see the image, but you do see the colored guidelines on the display, this video will help you determine if the wire is being cut. It's due to the wire being held by a plastic grommet in the trunk which is slowly cutting the wire. That's why it shows a picture sometimes and sometimes it doesn't.
