Not really necessary on a mid size sedan. I was disappointed also by the lack of power folding mirrors but they are just another thing to break. My Tahoe has them and one has failed and it would cost close to $3000 to fix. And that is on a Tahoe. Can't imagine what it would cost one a MB. The one thing I don't like about MB is the same thing I love- lack of 'gadgets' which means a lot less to break. If u want gadgets, get an Audi and wait for something to malfunction.

So, I asked MB directly through their advisory site I belong to and got the following statement in response.
Hi samkimg,

Sorry for the delayed response. I spoke with our Product Management team regarding this feature. There is insufficient customer demand. Customer feedback has been that they would be unwilling to pay for this feature in as much as the mirrors can be folded manually. If this changes and there is significant customer demand going forward, the factory will certainly revisit this for the U.S market. Thank you for sharing your feedback as posts like this are important to us and are shared.

Did MB introduced PFM again after 2014 customer complaints?
