Center speaker grille removal

I've searched around but can't find anything. What is the process to remove the center speaker grille in a harmon/kardon equipped car? My grille rattles and looks to have a crack in it, so I'd like to inspect. After some initial poking around, it looks like it's more than just snapped in there.

It is just "snapped" in there but don't just pry it up. It has plastic hooks around like 20 or so of them. The deck material is weak and the hook can rip thru it if you just pry it up. If damaged the hook may not hold when you re-install.

Releasing the hook is easy. You need a credit card or similar with quite sharp corner.

Slide the card under the edge of the grille and find the hook. The hook is built with two side posts and the hook itself is in between them. With the corner of the card (or similar) press between the side posts on the hook post itself prying up slightly at the same time. The hook will release without damaging the deck edge.

Start at the corner and go one by one. Hooks are spaced at 2-3" spacing. After you have done the hooks on front and sides you do not need to do the back edge. The grille will come out.

Hope this helps.

you have to use a sledge hammer and a high capacity blow torch, hopefully the kind they use in space to optimize the peak flow of the main energy beam conductor that regulates
the inner gravitational forcing vectors that guide the thing back down on diffuser vectors, hope this helps

I recently removed the grill to install an aftermarket parking display. The grill is held in by two clips marked in red in the picture, the other tabs are used to set the cover in the correct position.

My post earlier was for the rear deck grille. I probably misunderstood the OP's question.

Any pictures you can show us? I am trying to picture in my head a good spot for a small aftermarket display to hook up a low front end camera to.

It's actually an LED distance display, i'm guessing you thought i was referring to a video display.

At first glance I also thought the OP was referring to the rear deck grille.

yep...I misunderstood you. I have the parking sensor indicator there as well.

I was thinking about potentially setting up a display in the sun-visor but stopped after I checked online how much a new OEM sun-viser would cost
