New Tires!

Finally, 2 months after purchasing my 2010 E350 Sport (Arctic White w/Pano P2) I had the tires replaced.

So much road noise and discomfort on the stock Pirelli's. I went to Town Fair Tire and purchased a staggered 18'' setup of Hankook Ventus V12 K110's for $960 (plus an $80 mail in rebate) including four wheel alignment, balancing, etc...

The car drives so much smoother now and the vibration at speeds of 85+ has been all but eliminated.

I attached the spec sheet to this post and was wondering if anyone can tell me if what their "techs" did is within the mercedes standard?

What amount of tire pressure should i follow.... MB recommended or what town fair tire did (32psi front, 35psi rear)?

I believe the recommended MB tire pressure is 34psi front and 42 psi rear.

Does the tire pressure depend on what type of tire you are using?

All too many tire shops don't check and just air tires up to what they think they should be - treat the tire shop pressures as most likely wrong.

The tire pressures specified on the car (inside fuel filler door or on the driver's side door jamb) are for stock size tires. For example, the Sport Package on my 2011 E550 included staggered 18" AMG wheels with Pirelli All Season tires - 245/40R18 front, 265/35R18 rear. Factory tire pressures for this package are 33 front and 42 rear. If your new tires are a different size than the OE tires you may need to experiment to find the best pressure.

Wow, that is such a difference. My 2012 E550 4matic wants 39 in all four tires. Interesting.
