Pricing goal - 2011 350 Bluetec

One of the cars that I'm looking at has literally every option with the exception of the rear airbags. It has leather, P2, parktronic, Driver assistance, nightvision, folding seats, ventilated seats with driver multicontour and so forth. It has about 12k miles.

Manheim auctions show these selling at auction in the $35 - 37k range. This car is a local to them so they had no costs other than CPO.

It isn't my first choice of color and it has the luxury package instead of the sport with the ugly asymetric split spoke wheels.

Any thoughts on price?

Does anyone remember what the residual was for a 3 year lease in 2011?

Thank you. Most helpful. That would put the residual at about $43k. Does that sound right?

Getting close to having a serious conversation with the dealer. The MSRP of the car was $69k in 2011, so the residual should be about $43k. If certification costs about $1500 then the car is theoretically worth about $44500

Anybody know what the cost of the extended CPO warranty is (the 3/135)?
Can one buy the prepaid maintenance on a used car? Not really cost effective but a bargaining point.
Does mbrace come with a CPO? For how long?

Every pre-owned car gets a 3 month mbrace, and then the hard sell to continue the service.

http://www.mbusa.com/mercedes/mbrace/packages

I find mbrace to be expensive and useless: I never used it, and despite the hard sell, let it expire.

If you're halfway decent with google, I can't find one single benefit.

But then, I am not a concierge sort of person. If you want to be catered to, I guess it's a good one.

Don't forget that you always need to be able to make a payment to MBUSA while cruising down the interstate.

True - all that all-on stuff is pure junk but the basic services (lo-jack type features, remote unlock/lock, airbag deployment alerts and so forth) are valuable and - if needed only once - may be worth the $25 a month.

The dealer - of course - told me that CPO cars come with neither Sirius nor mbrace trials. I knew he was wrong about the Sirius - thanks for verifying what I thought was correct about the mbrace. I guess that is one more thing that can go into the negotiation hopper.

Any further thoughts on pricing?

Ignore the residual price...it has nothing to do with what the car should cost you. The base price to use is the manheim price with some adjustment for extra features.

The BluTec's in 2011 had an extremely high residual...but that was a forecast. Reality is that it was much too high.

True. I hadn't considered that. It is so much easier buying a new car.
Manheim prices seem to be in the $37-$39k range. KBB/Edmunds prices the certified car in the $44k range.

Pricing seems impossible to pin down as there are few Bluetecs out there, even fewer with ridiculously low miles and virtually none with all the options.

If it were a gasser then it would be easier as you'd have comps but here you have vry little.

Any specific $$$ thoughts?

I'd start with $40K and see what happens...My guess is that it's an earlier 2011 with the older comand system. Late 2011's had the 2012 comand system because they ran out of parts. That might help keep the price down.

(I know because my 2011 blutec has the 2012 comand 4.5 system)

Thanks. This one is July 2011 build with the SD card slot and the iPod plug in the center console.

Well said, While I like diesels, residual positioning is not what they made it out to be in 2011. It should be manheim + a margin + CPO + the depreciated value of the extras
