Sent you a PM about connecting.
Do folks think they will be selling during this event and if so, should I expect significant discounts?

I get the manufacturers position as they maintain retail pricing to protect their vendors. If not the vendors lose loyalty and margin erodes over time. My gripe is that we regularly get posts for HRE distributors / dealers offering discounts to forum members. I can choose to take these siting on my couch wearing my pajama's with a click of a button. If they want me to drive to their factory for an open house there should be some kicker to the deal. Local captive market so no nationwide conflicts...MAP pricing stays in place, etc, etc...
I would think that HRE would have the foresight to bring one of the local dealers in to the event for "event special pricing" and move some product. Factory first at xx% off retail, seconds or blemished wheels at XX% discount (caps intentional for higher % discount)! Sure there is some old stock or slow moving sets they would like to move. This way their distributor model is protected, there is a revenue sharing for the event and HRE covers the cost of the marketing event plus builds customer loyalty. Just seems odd that if they are going to the time and expense of hosting a big regional event there would be a targeted revenue figure to cover the costs and appropriate model to drive those sales. Marketing speak - there is no call to action!

Either way, it's a once a year event and always a lot of fun to do the tours and meet other car enthusiasts.
