Post Some practice driving

Decided to throw the coffin on for some 'practice' driving before I head to the beach......
I don't have much driving time; well ANY real driving time with the thing up there, so I thought it would be a good idea to get to know it better
so I'm not that jackwagon that had a malfunction whilst on vacation
that may or may not be holding up traffic.....
anyway, a few pictures.......I think this car is badarse even with the box on it

Car looks sick. The coffin is alright too. LOL.

thanx guys for the comments, I'll be doing some driving with it today and over the weekend.......the coffin casts a shadow over the sensors at the top of my windshield and the headlights come on, and that bothers me.........
I also wonder why I always see folks with roof boxes that have them to one side or the other and not in the middle?
any one know why people do that? I figured you'd want it in the middle for the center of gravity's sake right?

I like the debadged look on the back. I've been thinking of doing that to my E550. Did you do it yourself? I heard a hair dryer and dental floss works.

couldn't agree more, my vanity took a while to wear off, and no, I had someone do it for me, it had been so long there is a shadow of the badging and it bugs the hell out of me! but it's harder to see when it's dirty.......which takes about 4 seconds of driving haha

I say go for the debadge!

Hype - your ride is "sinister". Absolutely love the look and think the coffin actually looks cool up there in a utilitarian sort of way. Never thought about all of the ones I see shifted to one side or the other. Assumed that was for ease of loading and installation from one side.

If folks ask just tell them that's where you keep your death star and tie fighters. Ala Darth Vader.

It's WAY easier to load when it's on one side.

I have one for Momma's Ford Excursion, not easy getting the beach stuff way up there!

many thanx Pnt, I like the look too, the wide angle lens really helps too, to catch the whole car up close

that's true, but an Excursion is much taller than our E, I really don't even need any help loading it

Can you let us know how bad the wind noise is at highway speeds and how it affects MPG over a long trip? I'm thinking about getting a roof top box for my wagon. Thanks.

I can say with certainty that it IS loud with the sunroof open; tolerable
with it closed, and not an issue with it closed at sheathed, you can still hear the slight whistle, but it isn't enough to bug me....and that is with the radio off; radio on and it's totally fine! MPG is another story that I haven't read the chapter on yetbut will try to collect some sort of data on the matter
I went driving a bit this morning and it handles fine, but it does loom over the front windshield, but not enough to hinder visibility, as the MB engineers already know haha, I think all in all it's a good piece, easy to use, light and looks good too as I have turned many heads
