Question NEED HELP - Nav update issues

Hi Folks,

Hoping you can help me.

I've purchased for my 2011 E550 Cab the Navigation updated DVD's and inserted the 1st DVD for installation thinking the system would let me eject 1st DVD and then allow me to insert 2nd DVD and continue on with installation.

Well I've come to find that the system won't let me do this. So I'm stuck with a screen that tells me install is about 50% complete and asking for 2nd DVD but can't get system to accept 2nd DVD.

Is there a way to cancel this install or at a minimum a way for me to manually eject 1st DVD and install 2nd DVD. No problem canceling the installation and start from the beginning if someone has the steps to do this.

Many Thanks,

I just went through the same process last weekend. If you haven't already tried this, you must eject the cd yourself, as it will not do it automatically. It took me a while to figure it out, as I didn't want to do it incorrectly. As soon as I ejected the first cd it asked me for the second one. Good luck!

Ditto here. Exactly as the last poster stated. Just hit the button.

Thanks for your responses.

Was able to get DVD out and 2nd one installed. Nav updated and appears to be working fine.

Now, I'd like to ask you all if you're able to see traffic on your map. I am subscribed to Sirius radio and traffic, but when I go to the traffic tab, all I get is the "call Sirius" option. I just updated my maps but there's no change with that problem. On my wife's 2011 C350 we're able to see traffic on the maps with no problem.

What do you think is causing this issue?

Thanks!

Traffic is now provided by a Sirius and is a subscription service. The C, IIRC, uses traffic data from Clearchannel via the radio, so it costs nothing.

My wife's Honda has free traffic from Clearchannel, my Acura have traffic from Sirius. Her's was more accurate and I let the traffic from Sirius expire.

For traffic, just run Waze on your cell phone.

You are not subscribed to the traffic service. You think you are (or your car to be more specific) but you are not.

If you are paying for the service you better check you are paying it for the equipment number in YOUR CAR and not for someone else.

Remember your car has two separate equipment identification numbers; one for the Sirius radio service and the other for traffic.

If you want the traffic service you need to separately subscribe for it.

Thanks for your response. When I called Sirius to ask them about it they told me that I had both radio and traffic. As much as I hate to call them again (because their high pressure sales people are always trying to get me to buy something else) I will call them again to confirm.

I currently use waze but would prefer to use the navigation map since it's available in the system.

Forgot to mention that traffic information is not available in all areas so make sure the area you are in is included.

Also in NAV settings you need to check correct boxes to see it.

2011 E class cars have only one ESID.

My 2011 E350 had separate Equipment Identification Numbers (EIN) for radio and traffic.
