Tires for 19x8.5 amg wheels
Just wondering- will tires (michelin pilot super sport or bridgestone potenza s-04) 255/35R19 fit wheels 19x8.5? My car is 2010 E350 4Matic sedan sport package with 18 inch wheels and tires 245/40R18 (wheel 18x8). As per tires/wheels calculator tire diameter will be 8 mm bigger (my main concern) and 4 mm closer to suspension (offset is the same as my current one or pretty close). Any experience/thoughts? Thanks, Yuri

I would not think you have any fitment issues. I have 275/35 - 18 tires in rear because the tires I have do not come in 265/35-18 size. Fit on just fine on the OEM rims. Some "expert" here in the forum said this tire would not fit on the original rim and nobody would even install it. Well, proved him wrong...

Thanks Arrie for your reply. My main concern frankly is not speed read but front tires clearance. As I mentioned it's sport package ( a bit lower than standard sedan). I am pretty sure for rear it will fine, but for front- particular cornering- this is where I am in doubt Visual investigation ( right now I have 245/40R18 as I pointed before) shows there is still some room, but just in case I decided to double check.

Tire noise
Thanks for the feed back Yuri. We've noticed a kind of hollow sound when we hit pavement cracks etc. did you notice that with yours? I'll be interested to hear back after you change tires. We still love the car though!

Well, I went to the MB dealer yesterday and they spent more than 2 hours with me trying to identify the noise. The mechanic who also drives an E class and the service manager could not seem to hear that noise as I was describing it. They even switched out another e class with different tires and the same wheels. I still heard that same "hollow" sound. Have to give them a lot of credit. At least now I don't think it is a tire noise.
Yesheego and champaign777 what style of wheels do your E class have. Mine are the 5 spoke mag style. Just wondering is there is a difference on the sound between the 5 spoke and the other wheel style like Socalclk has in his picture.
