I got the wood steering wheel with paddle shift on ebay (worldwide ebay) that matched the dark wood trim on my car, this wood steering wheel was originally on the 2013 SL500 and it fits perfectly on my 2011 E350. All the electrical buttons on the new steering wheel working fine after switching.
Airbag error message was on after installation but it was gone after reset with the reset tool from auto-shop.
I paid a little over $1K for this steering wheel and its airbag (airbag comes with the steering wheel). Consider it as a sporty & luxury feeling and hard to find item so if you can afford it then the price is not important! Believe me, it's worth the money you spend!
I did a lot of researches before I buy this steering wheel, so I believe that all the Mercedes AMG 3-pole (horizontal bottom) steering wheels WITH paddle shifts from all Mercedes models 2012-2014 will fit and function perfectly with 2010-2011 W212 & 2012-2014 W212. In my case, there are no problems with steering, electrical, mechanical, etc.. at all beside reset the airbag error message.
Attached images showing the deep/thickness of the wheel.
I have a 2011 E350 Sport. I am looking for this steering wheel without airbag (picture above) with wooden trim. Does anyone know where I can find this?
the wheel looks great! Love it. I see the wide view- you have lighting in the foot wells. Is that a standard W212 feature? My car is dark down their. Details please!!
You didn't have to switch out the contact plate or anything?? I'm looking at replacing my 4 spoke wheel in my 2012 Mercedes e350.. I want your exact wheel!
I'm replacing my stock steering wheel on my W212, I have bought 2 of them one from w246 and the second one from W166 AMG, I would like to install the AMG one but the brown cable is missing. I think that cable is for linking the airbag to the ground. but I don't find the info anyware. Should I go with the w246 as it has the brown cable or I can use the AMG one. In the first pic you can see the mass cable connects the airbag to the spring. The spring is in contact with the plate on the steering wheel, which is also connected to the low metal part of the steering wheel. through the brown cable
