2014 E350 with 2012 Wheels
I took delivery of my 2014 E350 Luxury yesterday and found it had the same eight spoke wheels as on my 2012 E350 Luxury. They aren't even shown as an option for the 2014's.
I believe they had a lot of left over 2012 wheels and some enterprising bean counter said why not put them on cars for the Americans who won't know any better. Actually, I like them better than the current five spoke version but I'm curious how this happened.
I also noticed that the carpets seem to be of poorer quality than I had in my 2012 E350 and 2014 GLK 350. They must be scratching to save every possible penny.

Agree - just traded up 5 years (CL to CL) and there is a world of difference
Carpets like thin cardboard, visors thin stiff cardboard with only one light level and no magnifier - gas flap (not cap) much thinner (flimsy) leather of poorer quality and not as much real leather, glass panels thinner resulting in audibly more road noise, suspension (in sport mode) mushy - paint finish inferior, each new brake job for pads now requires rotors according to MB service advisor (less knowledgeable/courteous) etc etc
Truly believe that the planned for obsolescence of the newer MB cars (rotors, batteries, shocks, alternators, wheel bearings, ball joints etc) is built in to their profit plan to occur much sooner than only a few years ago and the price increase for these parts is dramatic. Price vs. Value. Scary!
Can you say TESLA?

I believe the eight spoke wheels may look better on a Luxury model than the five spoke ones that should have been used. My dealer offered to switch
them but I said I would keep these.
