Cold engine accelerating?

Hey guys. I have realized something. Yesterday i had to go to a friends house real quick, i started my car that was cold and left. I drove fairly easy then about 10 minutes later i got a call from my friend that he was at my house instead. So i turned around and went back. The thing is when i went i went back i went back at a fairly "high"speed and the car was almost at its full operating temp, not fully though. The thing is I'm afraid i did some damage to the engine by doing this. Anyway i know im going to catch flack but thats fine, but in your guys opinion did i do some major damage or am i trippin? Anyway thanks in advance guys!!

Trippin' - probably not the best thing to do, but in 10 minutes things should be warmed up enough that damage is very unlikely.

Your right, it wasn't the best thing to do. i take way more care of my car and generally don't do something as careless as what i did yesterday, but i kinda had no choice. Do you think this warrants a trip to the dealer? Just to be safe?

I think it's fine we've all done this time to time despite not the best thing for the car. I think your dealer may not take you seriously....

Lmfao! this wouldn't be the first time the dealer doesn't take me seriously. Being 19 doesn't help that either. :/ but you are right, i would sound a bit ridiculous if i took my car in for this.

Good lord! The only thing that's going to fall out faster than your engine block is your uterus...

In 10 minutes your engine is at full operating temperature unless you were somewhere at -20 temperature, where it takes a bit time but even there after the car has been driven for 10 minutes it is warm enougfh to do what it can without causing any damage.

I don't know what kinda engine you have NA or twin turbo . Turbo engine needs to idle a few seconds before shutting it off because of turbo turbines.Because these turbines keep running on even when you stop abruptly and these remain running w/o getting oiled if you turn your engine off w/o idling ,in long term you may end up turbo failure.
This is why I turn off ECO when I do use the buttons behind the steering wheel and come close traffic lights .
These engines are warmed up quickly then other engines to optimize fuel efficiency and catalytic converters' doing it's job as well
